~Valerie~ I’m back on the floor, and my head is spinning. My hands are gripping the damp rag so hard my fingers are turning white. I’m fuming. Every time I think about how Ronan just looked past me in that office, I want to scream. He didn’t even see me. He saw a problem. He saw a kid who shouldn't be there. He saw a ghost. The club is starting to get louder now. The afternoon sun is trying to peek through the dirty windows, but the thick smoke and the dark wood of the bar swallow it up. I’m wiping down the tables near the back booths, moving fast, trying to work off the energy vibrating under my skin. My boots are heavy on the floor, making a loud thud with every step.
