Destined by the moon

Dunree

I bolt into dads car and look up to see him in the same spot, just smiling... here I was thinking he would want his car but I guess he doesn't mind his daughter bucking his car for one day.

I did my usual routine for when I went to Dunree, get some fuel and coffee.. then set off on the beautiful drive to one of the best places on earth and it's been oh so long since I've been. Once we get past the town and into the scenic route, I put down my windows, blasting Gia woods - Feel it.. feeling completely free and safe for the first time in years.

As I drove, getting closer to one of my favourite spots in the world. I took in scenery how it didn't change how it still looked so beautiful, I made a mental note that I would love to build near this beach, just so I would have to take this gorgeous road every day. I pulled in, there was a path to take before you get to the beach.. so it's hidden and out of the way. I got my weed out of my coat and rolled a joint, now my thang was to sit at the beach with a coffee and a joint, and just contemplate life. So to say I was excited was an understatement, I got out of the car and took a big whiff in... "ahhh home."

I walk the path to the beach, breathing in slowly and feeling the connection I've always felt here. Hoping it didn't go away. I start to run the path excited to come over the little hill to see my favourite beach, I got to the top and saw it, still beautiful as ever. I took my shoes off and went down the little hill, sand in between my toes, I completely ground to Mother Earth instantly here. I open my eyes and walk over to my usual spot I always sat in.

"s**t no blanket, ah well I'll only get a little wet"

I cringe thinking of my dad's car.

I sit down, take a gulp of my coffee, light my joint and just breathe. Taking it in, I don't know what it is about this place but I feel at ease, I sit looking at the beach with the gorgeous green hills covering it at either side.. "I love Ireland"

I take my jeans off and leave them in a pile, thanking the moon goddess I wore a long top today. I didn't even care if there were people I was going straight to the ocean, to charge, to renew. Soon as my feet touch I feel it, I smile.. rushing even quicker to get under the water, I finally get under feeling the water wash everything away. I smile as I come to the top.

"Ahhh finallllyyyy"

I swim for a while before I head back to my little spot, putting jeans on wet legs is horrible. I know this. I ring my top out as much as I can before getting back in the car. Driving back I feel brand new, happy, and finally at peace. I f*****g love this place.

"I need to take the boys tomorrow" I say into myself.

I pull into mothers drive, as I assumed sitting on the porch.

"Haha, love you mother"

"Oh, what's got you chipper?"

"That beautiful beach is what, I feel unreal."

I look to mum who's silent, "you okay?"

"Yes of course, it's just there's the girl I remember."

"Ahhh momma, stop you'll get us both going damn you"

"You should do that every evening, go to your beach. You deserve it. Look what it does to you, what it's always done to you."

"Sure thang momma, I'm gonna get an early night for border patrol tomorrow."

"Ahhh yes knock them out baby girl!"

"Haha, you got it! I kiss her forehead, "goodnight, love you."

I wake up at 5.30, an hour before I was meant to meet dad. I decided to scope the border quickly myself to get familiar with the border, dad said there was a rogue problem and I do love a good chase. I smelt rogues southwest of the border, but they weren't there anymore and have moved.. I go back and wait for dad, 10 minutes later he arrives along with Beta Andrew and a few of his men.

"Hi dad" I say as he approaches me.

Beta Andrew gathers the men, "okay so there seems to be some rogues entering our borders. We suspect they may be entering via the northern border." I wrinkled at this, there was no scents or anything rogue suspicious up there.

I decided to chime in, "how do you suspect it's the north border beta?"

"Well a few of our men saw them exiting there"

"I did a scope of the border this morning twice, the only area I smelt rogues were southwest of the border. Zero stench at the north."

I see my dad completely gobsmacked and silent for what seemed like ages, "alright you heard her, straight to SW and check it out." Says Beta Andrew.

Dad comes up to me, "you checked the borders already this morning?" Yes, I'm sorry I just wanted to get familiar with the border, it's been a while."

"No, don't apologise... I'm impressed."

"Swee-"

"Alpha, sorry to interrupt. Just want to confirm there is was 3 rogues caught at southwest, and as Ellie said no activity up north."

"Well done Ellie, you'll make a great Luna someday."

"Thanks Andrew, I'll see you later."

"Welllllll, look at you.." my dad is beaming with pride.

"He's right, you're gonna make a great Luna someday, and I'm so proud of you!"

"Who says he's gonna be an alpha paps?" I laugh.

"Ahhhh sweetie, just accept it. He'll be an alpha, strong alpha genes we have!"

"Hahaha I'm glad am here dad"

"I gotta get Wyatt to school, hopefully that goes okay."

"Course it will, give me a shout later?"

"Sure thing dad!"

I grab Wyatt and head off to school, my old school. "You excited buddy?"

"Yeah momma I'm super excited!"

"Haha good boy, I love you loads little guy."

I pull in and walk him in, he went straight in and started talking to other kids immediately. I smiled, knowing he would be okay. "Let me know if there are any issues Mrs Montgomery"

"No problem Miss McGlinchey, but I see he'll be just fine" she smiles.

"Thanks again!"

"Boys sit down and eat dinner, grandma made Mac n cheese, mommy's favourite!"

"Mmm this is good mommy" Wyatt says.

"Soooo gooood Nana" chimes in Jaxxy.

I stared around the table, taking it in and feeling happy. Oh and I missed mother's Mac n Cheese too much, "I might head to the beach when the boys are in bed if that's okay?" I say to mother whilst mauling my food.

"Hahaha yes, I was just about to tell you that make sure you take your blanket this time."

"Definitely, and extra clothes" I laugh.

"Your dad left off a car today, it's in the garage."

"WHAT?, I'm not taking cars off him I was just borrowing his."

"Ellie he knows that, but he said he wants you and the boys to be driving safe."

I'm so happy deep down because that was my next hurdle, to buy a car.

"He didn't have to do that, I was gon-"

"Ellie" mother cuts me off.

She grabs my hand, "you deserve this, enjoy it sweetie!"

I'm far too independent.

"I'll pay him for it, I can't keep it for free."

"Get out and go beach sweetheart, I have a coffee and a blanket waiting. Don't forget your smoke too." She says with a wink.

"You okay putting the boys to bed?"

"Sweetie, let me soak in the boys. Of course I got it."

I kiss her cheek, "thanks momma"

Now, let me check out this car.

I open the garage waiting to see what dads done, waiting to see some stupid rich car... but that's not what I saw, my jaw dropped to the ground. There was no car but a van, and not just a van a camper-van, "how the hell did he know?" I say into myself. I had an LVD converted camper back in Sweden, which I had to leave.

A beautiful white and yellow LVD camper van sits in front of me, I stare wide-eyed.

"Close your mouth sweetie" my mother laughs.

"What the hell mum? I say about to cry"

"Me, and your dad cooked it up, I knew you'd miss it so when I saw one for sale I had to. Then your dad took over when I ran the idea past him yesterday.

"you guys are unbelievable, I f*****g love it!!"

I crush into my mother, "can I go to the beach now?"

I beam.

"Hell yes baby girl, enjoy the van. I have it packed for the beach too" mother kisses me on the cheek.

"Oh yes I will, ahhhhh" I scream as I climb in and drive immediately out of the drive, my goal to go straight to my beach, in my little hippy van."

"This day can't get any better!" just as am about to hit my favourite road and turn my music on high"
