She quickly opened it to find a small bluetooth speaker. She found the power button and turned it on. The poem played, and all you could see was her face lighting up like a million stars in the night sky.
She also was feeling embarrassed by it because all of her friends heard it and started giggling. They ask who it was from? All she could say was that she didn't know. She asked her mom, and she said it was here when she got out of bed.
She never found out who it was from. Her mom kept her promise to Ben from across the street.
Years passed. Sasha was now 34 years old. Ben being 35. He had of course moved into his own house by that time. Still single, he had been on many dates with random girls he met off dating apps, but they didn't work out. Maybe it was because he could never stop thinking about Sasha.
Sasha wasn't single. She had found someone she thought she was in love with, but did he truly love her? That was the real question. She had even moved in with the guy.
He got her anything she wanted, because he had deep pockets. Not to mention a bad temper when he didn't get his way.
He had come in one night filthy drunk and ask Sasha to make him a sandwich at 2AM in the morning. She ask him where he had been and he told her it was none of her GD business and to make his GD sandwich.
She said F-you! Then went to the bedroom and slammed the door, locking it. You could hear her crying into the pillow.
He kicks the door in and grabs her up and slaps her across the face. Tells her "Don't you ever slam my F-ing doors again!" Then throws her to the floor. He then had the nerve to say "Make my GD sandwich too!"
In fear for her life she makes him the sandwich in hopes he'll eat it and go to bed. It was already in her mind as soon as he passed out she was going to get her purse and leave.
