Callie’s POV “How convenient,” I finally said, breaking the silence. “All of this.” No one answered. Of course. They were waiting for me to continue. To fall into the role each of them had already decided for me. I let out a short, bitter laugh. “An Alpha who decides to hide me my entire life…” I looked at my father, “a witch who pretends to be an alcoholic just to keep me ignorant,” my eyes shifted to my mother, “and two ‘mates’ who almost decided for me without even explaining what the hell that meant.” The air tightened. But I didn’t stop. “Do you know what you all have in common?” Silence. “Not one of you asked me what I wanted.” That was the truth. The only one that mattered. I felt something shift inside me. It wasn’t anger. Not entirely. It was something steadier.
