Two nurses rushed out of the reception to hold Mrs Johnson as she seemed to almost lose her psyche. The doctor tried to pacify her and ascertained to her about Aviva's condition. She sat back and it seemed a hole was dug in her heart forthwith. She held the couch handle so firmly with her left hand like a pregnant woman pushing in the labour room.
One of the nurses who was busy with the cell phone approached her forthwith she was done.
"Mr Thomas said you should come to his office"
Mrs Johnson nodded her head without uttering a word, her psyche had been going through a lot of thoughts. She envisaged Aviva's condition might lead to something tormenting, she began to feel for her. She stood up from the couch and moved toward the nurses at the reception.
"Which ward is my daughter taken to?", she asked
The nurses were glaring at one another, they have been told by their boss not to allow anyone into the ward. They felt reluctant to convey an answer to her question until one of the nurses broke the silence.
"I think you should visit the boss first because he said we shouldn't allow anyone into the ward".
She threw her bag on the couch and strode with force as if she was going into a brawl with Marley Thomas. When she reached the top floor, she discovered Marley Thomas' office had been changed from the initial one she knew. She felt disappointed and had to stride down the stair. She asked where the office of Marley Thomas was, she was directed and she caught sight of the office, it had been revamped.
She bumped into the office without knocking, something she detested with passion, she fought her children several times concerning that, but it seemed she wasn't in her true senses. The way she threw her handbag before using the stair encapsulated all that might be going through in her psyche at the moment.
Forthwith she bumped in, it frightened Marley Thomas, but forthwith she saw it was Mrs Johnson she smiled. He knew what might be going through her psyche but what seemed odd to him was that she wasn't the biological mother of the lady and her mother wasn't be present in the hospital. Her thought changed forthwith, he thought maybe the lady came for holiday another thought crowned her psyche, he lost everything he was thinking forthwith Mrs Johnson talked.
"What do you say is wrong with my daughter", she asked.
Multiple thoughts crowned the psyche of Marley Thomas, he blamed himself to have transmitted such information to Mrs Johnson in such a manner and when he heard her said, " daughter", she withdrew himself from asking anything concerning it, rather providing an answer to what she asked.
"She needs blood, she had been losing blood right from her cell" he replied.
"God, so how much will that cost?", she asked
"Don't worry, the hospital will take care of it, I just want you to learn of it"
"Oh, alright, thank you very much", she replied
Marley Thomas had an inquiry, but he felt reluctant. He tried forcing himself to open his mouth but it seemed a spiritual padlock had keyed his mouth. His face was rumbling through the items on his table when a running air from his oesophagus jiggled his mouth.
" I think something strange happened to her"
Mrs Johnson noticed Marley Thomas had discovered Aviva's basic condition. She had the reminisce of her promise to Aviva not to disclose what happened to anyone, she felt reactant to disclose it, but she was sceptical if Marley Thomas had precisely discovered that.
"Why do you ask? Do you notice anything?"
"No", he replied reluctantly.
Mrs Johnson knew he had noticed, likewise Marley Thomas, he knew something strange had occurred to Aviva which Mrs Johnson was trying to keep away from him.
They both rose on their feet and were discussing as they stride toward the exit of the office. Forthwith Mrs Johnson arrived at the reception, the nurses were surprised because they never thought she could be that composed coming out, because of the way she entered.
She took her bag and was accompanied to the gate by Marley Thomas while she was bidding goodbye to the nurses. They thought there is something strange about her. She was checking her bag while talking to Markey Thomas, she noticed she had misplaced her car key and had to stride back in to look for it, she was about to enter when one of the nurses bumped into her and stretch forward her hand to hand it over her, the nurse saw the key on the floor, it might have fallen when she threw her handbag. She collected and paced towards where she left Thomas Marley.
"Thank you very much, Thomas"
They shook hands and looked into each other's eyes. Marley Thomas resumed his office and Mrs Johnson drove off. En route, she was collided by some protesters who were protesting along a path in Atlanta. It seemed they knew her car and blocked her from passing. It was a case of a black man who was recently killed accidentally by one of the American corps. The corp hadn't been questioned nor apprehended which had caused a stir in the society. Mrs Johnson who planned to be at work for the day was left disappointed, she had missed going to work for several days and couldn't afford to let such happen again. She didn't know what to do, the security operatives around couldn't control the mob. Rage had cooked itself in her. She felt like coming down and pounding on the protesters like pounded yam. She leaned her head on the steering.
