I had just showered, shaved, and stepped out of the room in the afternoon, feeling refreshed after months, but that didn't last long when my phone rang, flashing Ivan's name on the screen. I decided to let it ring and ignored it, thinking he might be calling to threaten or demand that I sign the divorce papers, but when it wouldn't stop ringing, I knew it was an emergency, or else he wouldn't just keep on calling me like a f*****g maniac.
And, then all of a sudden, the thought of Cassandra being in some kind of danger hit me, so I decided to pick up the phone, and I'm glad that I did, because Ivan's words alerted me.
"What?! Calling to demand the signatures on divorce papers?" I snapped, "I won't sign them."
