The Hidden Love Chapter 4

685 Words
The three of us became really good friends and whenever one of us had problems, the other two were always ready to help. This continued until graduation, where we successfully passed our engineering course despite having a demanding professor who wanted us to fail. We also cleared our board exams, earning our licenses as certified engineers. Renz: "So, what's the plan now? Now that we're engineers, what should we do?" Athena: "Isn't it obvious? Of course, we would need to find jobs." Ash: "Hmm? What if we try to make a company?" Renz: "Hey, are you being serious right now?" Athena: "Well, it's not really a bad idea." Renz: "And why are you always on Ash's side?" Ash: "Well, it might be too early, but it's worth a shot." Athena: "And where would we get the money to start a company?" (Ken approaches them) Ken: "Well, from me." Athena: "Huh?? Ken, you're here?" Ken: "Of course, I wouldn't miss my friends' graduation." Ash: "Sup, Ken." Ken: "Yow, Ash. So, have you told them?" Athena: "Told what?" Renz: (I feel like I'm being left out) Ash: "Oh, right. Athena still doesn't know that you didn't go to college and established your own restaurant." Athena: "WHAT??!!" Ken: "HAHAHAHAHA!!" Renz: (I really feel like I'm being left out) Ash: "Oh!! Right, I forgot to introduce you to Ken, Renz. Meet Ken." Renz: (FINALLY, YOU i***t) "Oh, it's nice to meet you, Ken." Ken: "Likewise, Renz." Athena: "But wait, you started your own restaurant?" Ken: "Yup. HAHA." Ash: "And now he's a multimillionaire idiot." Ken: "Hey, come on now." Athena: "Wait, how?" Ash: "Oh, you may not know it, but Ken's a good cook." Ken: "Well, that's true. Instead of wasting my money and time going to college just to learn to cook and pay tuition, I thought to myself, why don't I just save up all the money that I would need in college and just start my own business." Renz: "That's cool, Ken." Ken: "So that's what I did. I took the risk because if I hadn't, I would have not become who I am now, and now I don't have any regrets. I wouldn't want to have what-ifs, right, Athena?" Athena: "Ummm, yeah..." (a bit sad) Ken: "Well, let's go. To our office." Athena: "Hmm? Go where?" Ash: "To our office." Renz: "WHAT?!! OFFICE?" Ken: "Hey, Ash, you haven't told them even a little bit?" Ash: "Oh, right. I forgot." Ken: "Ahh, well, let me explain. When you guys were still studying, me and Ash already planned everything from the start that we would create a company, and I'm gonna invest in it." Ash: "Oh, and you guys might not know it, but Ken really came from a rich family. They also own a large engineering company." Ken: "Yes, that's right. So, I convinced my father to invest in you guys. Now, the construction of that building finished a month ago." Athena: "So, that means we now have a company, and would just need to work and make it a successful company?" Ken: "That's right, but currently, the three of you are the only employees in that company. So, good luck getting applicants. I'm gonna go now." Ash: "Oh, okay, bye, Ken." Ken: "See you, Ash. You too, Athena, and also you, Renz." Athena: "Hmm... you two really go a long way, huh?" Ash: "Yup, me and Ken are best friends since we were kids." Renz: "Well, that's a good story, but what's good is that now we won't have to work hard to earn money to start our own company." Athena: "No, it will be much harder." Ash: "Yes, I agree with Athena. Running a company is much harder than working for one." Renz: "What, you guys sound like we're going to fail. What happened to those guys who are always positive?" Athena: "No, we're just stating facts." Ash: "Yes, just facts." Renz: "Well, I'm gonna go now and try to find a new job. Good luck to your company." Ash & Athena: "HAHAHHAHAHA!!" Ash: "Don't worry, we're just kidding." And so our journey began.
