/HANNAH’S POV/
A week after I took on Dorothy’s case, actually ten days later, I have had to go to Vegas twice, to follow up on the Dorothy’s death and also know what she was doing and whom she was seeing in Vegas. Before I went on for the third visit which I am on my way back from on that Wednesday evening, I had to finally confess to Douglas about my encounter with Dexter.
“You mean to say, you slept with the criminal you are investigating…” Douglas laughed it hysterically.
“No, I was not investigating him then, in fact I do not even know he was the criminal, if I had known I would have…” I was trying to defend myself while Douglas’s laugh filled the room.
“Look Hannah, you have nothing to be sad about… you had no idea.” He said trying to calm me down.
The case was getting frustrating, I have not been able to get any lead, and to make matters worse, the case file that was handed to me seems to have allot of loopholes, and there are so many unanswered questions in every single page I turn too. It seems all like all fingers are engineered to all point at Dexter who seems to be the only one in the cartel, it’s so very odd. A cartel can’t consist of just one person, it has to be a tree.
On this last visit to Vegas, I have been able to trace Dexter through so many ropes all turning out to be dead ends, he didn’t use his real name to apply for the waiter service job I met him, he was called Drexler. One of his colleague, Linda, whom claimed she had spent a night with him, and also helped him receive cash through her account also assisted quite well. We went to the bank and trace where the cash came from.
“Well the cash was transferred manually over the counter from Miami…” the bank manager who was helping me check the account announced.
“Well I know it’s from Miami, but who sent it?” I told the manager already beginning to pour out my frustration on him.
“Well the person only went by kelvin and nothing more...” he said stuttering like this was the first time he was been questioned by a law enforcer before.
“What, you mean no last name or anything else…” I said out angrily and stood up leave.
“Ermmm… thank you MR…?” I turned quickly stretching my hand to appreciate the bank manager for his time but could not just remember what he called himself when I came in.
“MR. Jonson…. Alex Jonson…” He quickly rescued me from my mysteries.
“Yeah… Yeah… Mr. Jonson.” I said in a haste as he collected my hand in a cooperate handshake. I turned immediately and exited the bank, and straight to the airport.
Now here I am at an outdoor café, having coffee and enjoying the sight of the moon and the million stars, but what made it more stress free and more enjoying is the sight of the couples all around me, creating great romantic moments. And then I began to think about kelvin again, his kisses, his touches, his creases and his gentle bites the way he looks into my eyes and penetrates though my soul making me supernaturally develop the ability to rhyme words.
He has been sending me messages on i********: and f*******:, trying to catch my attention and probably bring me to his club again, which will definitely end up with me jumping into his arms and landing on his bed. Hmm, only if he knows that my attention has always been with him all this while, only that I have something which now distracts me from his thoughts. And for the time being, I want to keep it that way.
I was still wallowing in this moment, digging scoop after scoop into the bowl of ice-cream I was using to console myself from all the misery in my life and the ring from my phone brought me back to reality. I roughly through my pocket and finally brought my phone out the pocket of my tight jeans.
‘And now, who is this with an unknown number…’ I thought to myself as I angrily connected the call.
“HELLO… Hannah Hills here…” I introduced as I connected the call.
“Hannah Hills like the Hannah Hills I know…” He responded acting surprised as to hearing my name.
“Hello… you called my phone, I expect you should know whom you are talking to, at least that’s how you got my number right.” I fired at him quite angrily.
“Yeah I guess I know this Hannah hills, but my friend Dexter was whom I wanted to talk to…” He mentioned that name I have been playing around with for about two weeks now… DEXTER, his friend…? How. Now that wasn’t the problem, what he said nest was what actually gave me the blow on my head.

/KELVIN’S POV/
I was standing in my one way see through glass office enjoying the view of guests topping in and out of the club, the view was very much better than standing on the balcony, we now have a larger dance area, the back area where the old office was, now only have toilets.
I now go to the bar dressed more corporately, at first I started with wearing Dexter’s suits and tuxedos, and then I began to buy some for myself. Though I still get myself some fun in the more lager bar counter we now have. Today being a Wednesday, the crowd was not much and Loren could handle it all by himself and the only part I don’t like about this new office position is that I do not sight Loren at the bar as easily as I was able to before from the balcony.
I was standing there, watching with both my hands in my pocket, reminiscing o my life, especially the past few days. I have been able to cut ties with Janice completely after I caught her searching through my stuffs, we had a long romp and I passed out in a deep sleep only to be woken in the middle of the night and saw her going through the wardrobe. She couldn’t give any explanation to what she was doing there.
And the it was just me and my thoughts all through, the was not open as it was under remodelling and I couldn’t think of any other way to stabilize my thoughts other than bringing my family here. Though my mother was dying, I made sure we created amazing memories, memories that made her look happy and very strong.
They also shared in my happiness of how I was doing with the club as they were present when we reopened the after remodelling. And now the other person I will wish was her to witness what I have done here, at least so I can know his own opinion on my contribution to his club. Yeah, kelvin, I haven’t spoken to him since he requested that cash I wired to him. Now I just felt the strong urge to hear from him and as I was still thinking about him, I brought out my phone and straight to the text message he had sent to me I went.
‘Why have I not thought about this all this while…” I thought to myself as I moved to dialling the number the message came from, I mean the person could know a way I can communicate with him at least. I dialled the number and the tone kept on ringing until almost the last tone when I almost gave up and I thought I was going to end up in voice mail and then the sweet voice came soothing my heart but loud pounds in my mind.
“HELLO… Hannah Hills here…” The lady on the other end finally connected the call and the name she introduced herself with made me had chills down my spine, the voice and name I have been trying to wave off my mind for the past week.
“Hannah Hills… like the Hannah Hills I know…” I stuttered as I try to clarify if she really is the Hannah Hills I know or my brain is beginning to mess with me and playing games with what I hear.
“Hello… you called my phone, I expect you should know whom you are talking to, at least that’s how you got my number right.” It seems she was in a bad mood as she fired at me for calling her phone and still trying to accuse her if she really is who she claims to be.
Yeah, she has the right to do that, I mean why would I be asking her if she is the Hannah Hills I knew just after she introduced herself properly. So I quickly jumped at trying to explain myself to her so she could understand why I was stuttering in that manner.
“Yeah I guess I know this Hannah hills, but my friend Dexter was whom I actually wanted to talk to, I am Dexter Adams…” I dropped the bomb and the silent that came after that from her end says it all, I could picture the surprise on her face.
“Yeah... You know… Dexter, the barman from the club at BRIXELL….” I tried to explain more just in case she does remember the name.
“Helloo…” I said trying to call her attention back.
