/HANNAH'S POV/   Thursday came and went a bit faster than I expected, i Douglas like he said made all arrangements in a very covert manner, aside myself, him and the armed section of the division, no one else knew about the Operation. On the eve of the operation, Douglas called me and asked to go for a drive.   In about ten minutes, he was right in front of my apartment, immediately i got to his car, he drove off saying, let's go check out the locations we are sending in armed men into tomorrow.   "I don't think everything is alright in the division, something is not really okay with everything happening in the division." He said as we got the road heading towards the dock.   "I haven't been able to place my hands on what's really happening..." He said taking a pause I listen attentively.   "My suspicion became more certain when at the last minute, i was asked to not give you the case that was supposed to be given to you". He began and to explain and at this moment I knew he was really looking for someone to talk to.   “But all I can perceive about the whole thing is that, I feel I am being used to clear up competition, my reputation is used by the people in power.” He finally said.   I can sense that he was really disturbed about all the happenings in the in the agency especially under his division. I have known Douglas for a while and I personally requested to be posted under him when I finally secured the badge. He has always been my role model, that’s a fact my dad never liked about my being an agent, he has always being furiously jealous I choose an agent who is a junior to him as a role model.   He doesn’t really have a huge record of solved cases but his integrity and honesty precedes him, he was a very diligent agent who never breaks no matter what kind of pressure he is under, there was a time a drug dealer threatened him with his family, it was reported that he didn’t back down until his daughter was kidn*pped, well long story short, he busted the criminals using the girl that was supposed to be his weakness as his strength.   Reports showed that, he had placed a live tracker on the bracelet he gifted his daughter the day his daughter the same night he got the threat. While he kept the criminals on a long conversation on how he would get his daughter back, an assault team marched in to bust their asses. It has always been a very interesting story to listen to especially when you get to hear it from the tech guy that was with him all through the whole operation.   Now here is my role model feeling his being used to clear out competition by greater powers maybe in government. He obviously doesn’t like the feeling but what do I know.   “Okay…” I finally muttered out not sure whether to keep quiet about all I have just heard.   “So what you gonna do about that, I asked him?” I gathered the courage to finally ask.   “Well, at the moment, I don’t have a plan…” he said and had a brief pause.   “And the reason why I don’t have a plan is because I don’t really know who are involved and how high up this power is.” He completed.   “So I think I’m just going to let it keep playing until, I believe the perpetrators will finally reveal themselves.” He said as he drove into sight of the dock.   “Okay, what if the power is not something you will be to fight.” I asked.   “There is no power that can’t be fought…” he said.   “Really…?” I asked him.   “Yeah…” he replied and then followed.   “All you need is the right resources and strategy.” He concluded and stepped out of the car.   “I will be staying here tomorrow for the raid, it’s been a while I was on the field, and believe it or not is more interesting than sitting behind the desk. He said as kicked a pebble with his left foot.   “I can smell it Hannah, tomorrow you going to earn yourself a spot all over the papers” he said as he watched the whole area with a binnacles.   “Unless this Dele guy is not really a snitch after all.” He said removing the binnacle from his face and looked towards me with a stern look.   “I have a strong feeling he is a good source, though his intentions are what I can’t really determine” I said looking back at Douglas, but I had to look away immediately because at that moment, I felt letting Dele get his way with me will really go a long way in helping to determine what his real motive might actually be.   “Determine his intentions…” he said with a questioning look.   “Yes, everyone has a reason for doing something, getting to know the reason and the motive behind that reason is very essential in knowing how to deal with them.” I said as I began to finally get into the conversation.   “Okay, I see, I understand your point”. He said as he walked back to the car.   “Let’s head out to the other locations.” He said getting into the car.   We got to the Chinese restaurant and watched from afar, the same guy from last night dropped from a car some minutes later with the manager of the dock.   “I guess they want him to all stay together tonight, just in case.” Douglas stated.   “Well, I guess so too.” I replied.    “You wanna go inside?” I asked Douglas after a brief seconds of silence between us.   “Nah, let’s not do that, like I told you some shits are going down that haven’t been able to really identify.” He said.   “Ninety percent of the cases we’ve solved under my command has been based on information we get from the headquarters.” He began to say again.   “You are the only one who has always being going after personally identified cases…” he stated.   “And I am the only one who has not recorded any success” I added to what he just said.   “You feel me right…?” he rhetorically asked and I just had to nod in confirmation.   “Don’t be surprised we get busted once we stepped into that restaurants.” He said and asked as he went on to take the pictures of both of them together. I thought we will be going home immediately but he made a stop at a gas station but instead of having our gas tank filled he went on into the mart.   “Give me a minute, I will be back” he said as he walked into the mart, about five minutes later he came back with two doughnuts and a muffin.   “Don’t judge me…” he said as he got into the car. I raised my hands up to show he was safe because I wasn’t even thinking of doing that.   “I am damn hungry and Beatrice won’t hear of me having anything to eat this night, you know how this health practitioners behave as if they have a contract with your internal organs” he didn’t even wait to finish his sentence as he had the first bite on the doughnut passing me the other piece.   We rushed through the late night snack and he drove me home afterwards.   “Don’t sleep too deep agent Hannah, tomorrow is a going to be a big day.” He said as he bade me good byes zooming off.   ***********************
