/HANNAH’S POV/ The suddenly became boring, tiring and exhausting just very early into the day, it became something you could describe has from hero to zero, all of a sudden nothing interest me again, I just sat there in my cabin for about an hour ding nothing other than just staring, I grabbed my phone a placed a call through to my dad. “Hello Hannah, how’s your day going” my dad greeted from the other side of the phone very enthusiastically. “Dad it was supposed to be going very nice, until about an hour or so ago” I retorted at my dad. “What happened about an hour ago?” he questioned after a heavy sigh trying to remain calm. “Well contrary to the new case you promised I will be assigned to, I didn’t get that…” I said to him still very angry and personally I wondered why my dad was the one I was pouring my anger at. “So what did you get?” he cut me at the middle of my sentence with another annoying question he is trying to use to portray his ignorance about the whole issue. “I got a stupid supervision task at the dock dad, can you imagine …” again he didn’t let me finish before he followed with another annoying question. “So you don’t like it?” “Why will I like that, even the newbies in the division knew that was a lame task” I replied back to him this time coldly trying to control my voice, I do not like being disrespectful. He sighed and began to speak very slowly. “Hannah, I know you didn’t get what you expected base on what we had discussed back at the house on Saturday…” I also didn’t let him finish as I cut him short too. “Oh yeah, you sure do know, so why the ignorance play earlier”.  I retorted at him again. “Calm down young lady…” now it’s his time to get angry, he retorted back at me. “You better watch your tongue and know who you are talking to, aside the fact that I am your father, we are both sealed by a badge where I am far way your superior…” I blow off and didn’t let him complete his statement. “Oh yeah, a badge I am actually begin to contemplate if I really wanted it for myself or just took it to make you fulfilled” I wonder what came off me and why I actually said that to him, Yes I was beginning to have doubts and question if a drug enforcer is what I actually want to do. “Are you serious right now Hannah?” the surprise and heartbreak in his voice was very obvious. “Are you really saying that to me or it’s just an outburst of your disappointment?” his questioned calmed me down and I immediately realized the gravity of what have just said, I had to quickly bring myself to book. “Dad I am tired, I don’t think this is where I am supposed to be” I poured my heart out to him instantly. “So what, you just going to give up? Huh…” “You going to give up and give Sam the whole pleasure to story around your failure to yeah one students in the academy? And your brother too will have the satisfaction of saying you wasted your life trying to fulfil mine?” he made a pause as if waiting for me to give him answers, but what can I say? I had no answers to all he asks of me. “You going to throw all those sacrifices I have made… sacrifice you have made into the trash? Is that what you want to do?” “Do you know how many times I have fought and cleared your name from being placed behind a desk, I know the field is where you want to be, where you are supposed to be and that’s where you will be and that’s where you will excel and be glorified before the eyes of all those who have wrote you off as a loser” Of course my father’s little pep talk had a little effect on me, I quickly moved out of the of the Building and straight to the dock, I try to form some acquaintances with some of the casual workers at the dock, I had this strong intuition that if anything should be going wrong on the dock, then those at the top will surely be involved and they will only need to give directives to their subordinates whom are the casual work I noticed a black man who drives a forklift in the dock, he looked like he was in his mid-twenties and behaves calmly compared to others on the dock. I decided to approach him and seek information from him, but I was skeptical about letting him on my identity or not. “Hey there…” I approached him sitting on a box under a shade by the side of the forklift, he was having a break with a sandwich that was obviously homemade. “Hey what’s up…?” He raised his head up to look at me. “I am good…” I replied still not sure on how to present my intentions to him, so I decided to just start a random discussion with him first and of course this discussion has to be about the location, at least that will give me an idea of how much he knows and how much I can get from him. “Ermm… so I want to ship in some goods in from Africa, and since there is a dock here, I want to know how to route it so delivered on this dock and not anywhere else for an easy access” when I was done, I wondered how I thought about that. “Okay…” he said without even lifting his head. “So, how do you suggest I go about that?” I asked as I sat down on the box next to him and all of a sudden he burst out a laugh with his hands covering his mouth to lower the sound. “What…?” I asked him with a bit of shock as to why he was laughing. The question and surprised look on my face must have made him extra excited because the laugh got a lot lauder. “What’s so funny?” I asked again with a bit of anger in my voice. “I am so sorry” he finally was able to say after gaining control on the laugh. “Seriously… you are sorry? What was the laugh about?” I asked again. “Okay here is the thing…” he said, stopped for a second to look at me with me with his index finger and thumb on his mouth indicating he was thinking on what to say next. “You are a newbie right?” he finally asked. “Newbie…? I asked in a state of confusion. “Yeah, a newbie, like you just got instated into the force right?” he tried to make his question clearer with the explanation. “What force…?” I answered his question with another question trying as much as possible to look surprised and also confused about what he is trying to say, even though I was already getting hints that I did wrong in trying to hide my identity. “Come on lady… you did really bad with the acting and questions about importations from Africa” he said and went for a bite on the sandwich still in his hand. “What are you trying to say?” I questioned again, even though I was already fully aware of what he was trying to say. “Well since you want to act all ignorant about the point I am trying to make, let me spell it out for you. From every point of view, you sure look like a cop…” he stopped to get another look at me and then continued. “Well maybe not a cop precisely, maybe a fed or the CIA or something, I can’t really say for sure. But what I am one hundred percent sure about is that you are with the government”. Even though he didn’t mention the DEA he mentioned me being with the government and that was absolutely true. He mentioning that to my face, made me thought for once, have I always being screaming out my identity to people I was supposed to secretly investigate and apprehend. Maybe that’s why I haven’t been able to solve a case. At that moment I decided to keep my primary assignment at the dock aside and hear what he has to say about my appearance. “Really… so what does a cop look like?” I asked and before he could say anything I asked again. “Or should I say what does those with the government look like?” I quickly reshape the question. “Well, I can’t really say, but as a young black dude with a very high tendency of being in a compromising situation every now and then, identifying your kind from miles away is a survival skill I need”. He sated after taking the last bite of his sandwich into his mouth. “I never said I am with the government.” I said with a bit of sarcasm folding my arm across my chest. “Look here lady, anyone who sees you can tell you are a cop or stuffs like that from miles away. You dressing choice, your serious look and stuffs like that, all gives you away” he stated with full confidence like a lecturer in collage who knows exactly what he is talking about. “That’s very bold statement you know, do you have a research or something that proves all you just said” I asked getting really interested in what he has to say. “Well, like I said to you earlier, it’s a survival skill” he said as he got up from the box. “Well, have got to go back to work, what are you actually here for?” he asked as he jumped into his forklift truck. “Well, yes I am from the government, and you really seem like a good guy, I don’t know if I should trust you but honestly you seem like a fair and honest guy.” I said to him looking him straight in the eye expecting to see any form of message passing expression. “Okay here is the thing, I can’t be seem talking to the government, so if there leave me with a contact or stuff like that, I will communicate with you, but you should know it comes at a price” The final statement came with him looking at me and liking his lips out of pleasure. I can’t lie I did not understand what he wants as the price nor will I say I didn’t find him attractive too, but I never expected him to have that intention, but now that he is requesting it, I really want to solve this case and ready to do anything to see to that. *******************************
