"Well, all of you, leave and go back to work!" Pearl dismissed the crowd from the scene. The crowed did as she commanded. She turned around and looked gloomily at Steven, whose height was 6ft even, with a flat-cut and well-defined face. She said gratefully, "Little brother, thank you. We're in big trouble this time." “Sorry boss, got you into trouble. I…” Steven was a little embarrassed, but before he could finish his words, Pearl stopped him. “Never mind. It was a good fight. Some jerks just won’t learn without a good beating. But this Sonny guy, is no ordinary jerks.” Pearl smiled bitterly. "Don't worry. No matter who he is, I won't let anyone bully you!" Steven clenched his fists and said fiercely. "It doesn't matter. Sister Payne, since you hired me as a bouncer here, your trouble is my trouble now. No one can annoy you. Anyone." Steven said casually with a grin. His eyes were very firm, and a hint of fierceness flashed across his eyes.Pearl Pain's heart was moved. After so many years, it was the first time that a ripple had appeared in her heart “You didn’t have to stand up for me…” “Well it was nothing. I just don’t like that jerk.” Steven habitually touched his nose and smiled, he didn’t care. What Pearl didn’t know was, she was the only remaining relative of Steven. He would protect her at any cost. Even he had to kill or give up his life. Pearl came forward and gently straightened Steven's collar. This young man was not as bad as she thought. He was much more righteous than others now. He was not afraid of power and dared to stand up for a woman like her. How could he not warm her heart? "It's getting late. Where do you live? I'll send you back," Pearl glanced at her wrist, and said softly. "Oh, this... No need, Pearl. I have a ride.” Steven took out the key to his second-hand scooter, from his pocket and shook it in front of Pearl with a smile. Pearl smiled and rolled her eyes at him with some charm. "Okay, let's go." After that, she took the lead and went downstairs. She gently brushed her graceful figure beside him. It smelled very good. He didn't know what perfume it was. Steven sniffed and followed her out. When arriving at his “Ride”, Steven almost snapped. His second-hand scooter was kicked over, now lying on the ground, its handle twisted and battery fell out of the seat. “Bastard, it must be that mother f*cker Sonny who did it." Steven cursed. "Well, get in my car. Let's talk about it tomorrow." At this time, a white BMW slowly slid over. When rolling down the window, Pearl's beautiful face was there, glancing at Steven's crappy scooter and shook her head. Steven reluctantly put the scooter aside and got into Pearl's car, which was much more comfortable. Steven laughed. Pearl smiled and did not say anything. She elegantly started the car. "Where are we going?" "Big Rich Community" Steven replied. "Really? Great, the house there is not cheap." Pearl was stunned and looked up and down at Steven. This guy was not well dressed, and he was riding a second-hand electric car. She didn't expect that the place where he lived was not bad. "Hey, the basement, 200 yuan a month." Steven smiled shyly, feeling very embarrassed. After all, his present value could not be compared with the woman beside him. This car alone was at least 600,000 or 700,000. Well, it was much better than his car. "Oh, in fact, it doesn't matter where a person lives. As long as he has an aggressive mind and is willing to endure hardships, everything will be improved," Pearl said with a hint of comfort. "Yes, everything will be fine, but living well is the most real thing people should learn." There was some loneliness in Steven's eyes. "You are a man with stories" driving the car. Pearl looked ahead with her eyes and said with a smile, "I met countless people. From my experience, you are not working at the construction site..." "Oh, then what do you think I do?" Steven was not surprised, since the woman worked in a nightclub. Being keen was one of her skills. “Well, that’s hard to say. Different people, different lives. When you are ready to tell, you will, won’t you?” Pearl turned to Steven and smiled. Then she casually took out a lady’s cigarette, with her slim and smooth fingers. Steven hurriedly took out an one-dollar plastic lighter and lit it for her. "Pearl, in fact..." Pearl waved her hand and stopped Steven. "Don't force yourself. Let's talk about it when you want to say it." Pearl spit out a smoke ring and did not look at Steven. "But I really thank you for what happened today." "Well, it's okay. You are a good woman. I should help you." Seeing that Pearl didn't ask about him, Steven breathed a sigh of relief. He didn't want to lie to this woman. Did he tell her that her only brother was dead now? Did he come to take care of her? Steven really couldn't say anything now. "A good woman? Oh, it's the first time I've heard people praise me like this. Good, as in my personality, or something else? Are you talking in your point of view as a man, or just as my employee?" Pearl said with a self-deprecating smile. “The context matters not, a good woman to me, is perfect in every way.” Steven laughed. “For a construction worker to a waiter, now live in the basement, as a man with your formal experience, you are quite confident. Ain’t you?” Pearl was happy about Steven’s confident. Pearl unintentionally put her hand on Steven’s upper arm. Steven can smell her fragrant. He could not help but peeking at Pearl’s slender legs that were stepping on the brakes pedals. Her legs were snow white and were exposed at her cheongsam, which made Steven a little dizzy. "Such a good woman on such an occasion, it's really a pity..." Steven was a little disappointed.
