The sun was shining, welcoming the summer and the beginning of classes, in the university the cars paraded one after another competing to see which one was the most luxurious, the bustle of the chats put an end to the silence and lit the atmosphere making it more enjoyable.
AILEEN
She was excited to start, and her brown eyes sparkled with excitement as she walked around the huge place, she would finally live the college experience, the parties, the fraternities, it was something she had always fantasized about, would it be all like in the movies? She walked with a firm step before the eyes of some young people who watched her and said some compliments to which she answered with a sweet smile, while her long hair danced in the wind to the rhythm of her flowered dress that threatened to rise and show something else, she walked to what would be her classroom and looked for a place to sit, she noticed that there were several of her high school classmates there.
“Well, well, but look who we have here, the beautiful Aileen honors us with her presence”. Said, a young man about 5'8”, with black hair and honey-colored eyes.
“Hello, Robert”. I greeted him with a slight wave of my hand and he smiled”. So we meet again.
“Yes, I'm beginning to think you're following me”. He winked in amusement. “I'm irresistible”.
“Most of my classmates are here, don't overestimate yourself Robert”. I teased him.
“Good morning everyone”. Greet our teacher welcoming us, his height must be close to six feet tall, about forty-five years old, he has brown hair and green eyes. “Well it's our first day, so we'll try to get to know each other, I want everyone to stand up and say your name to the rest of the class”. Ask as if we were in high school.
One by one the students began to introduce themselves and tell something about their lives, but when we were halfway through a knock on the door interrupted us, apparently a student had arrived late.
“Good morning, come in”. The teacher invited him in a very kind way and soon the murmurs and laughter began to sound, “Please be quiet”. He is wearing a pair of cream-colored pants that are folded by the legs to the middle of his calves, the pants reach his waist and a black belt along with a wine-colored polo shirt that match his socks, it is Abel, the boy that everyone used to bother in high school. “Please take off your cap”. Without answering he obeys the order revealing his blond hair that reaches almost to his shoulders and takes a seat at the end of the row, his height is taller than the others and although his face has not changed, there is something about him that makes him look different, his blue eyes have a threatening tinge and not one of fear as before. “Let's continue with the dynamic”. Encouraged the teacher. “Why don't you tell us your name?”
“He called me Abel”. He answered, standing up.
“Well Abel, tell us something about your life, like what do you like to do?”
“I like to write and play the guitar”.
“Are you from here, or are you just here to study?”
“I'm not from here, I came because I won a scholarship”.
“Very good, you must be a good student”.
“I guess I am”. He answers without any importance.
“Do any of you want to ask a question to your classmate?”
“Yes, professor”. Robert stops, I'm sure he's going to tease him. “You came with your mommy and daddy?, by the way, you don't have a daddy”. He scoffs.
“Robert, that's rude, apologize to your classmate”. The teacher demands, but Abel answers the question as if it were nothing.
“My mother is in jail, she was sentenced to twenty years in prison”.
“Who did she kill?” Asks one of the students almost annoyingly.
“You don't have to answer that, Abel”. The teacher intervenes, but Abel ignores him.
“My mother”. I see him continue with his story. “She worked in a morgue 21 years ago, but she was fired for being caught committing acts of n*********a”. He explains as if it were the most normal thing in the world. They took away my custody when I turned thirteen and gave it to my father's family.
“Impossible, you don't have a father”. Robert repeats.
“My father was the corpse my mother was f*****g in the morgue”. He finishes before sitting back down.
An uncomfortable silence takes over the classroom, Abel's story has left everyone stunned including the teacher who between awkward words tries to continue with the class, curious I turn to look at Abel and soon his gaze finds me and make a tour around my body that manages to freeze my blood and I end up turning my eyes to the front, his presence lets me know that there will be many problems.
