Questioning Good Ol'Doc

TUCKERS POV

As soon as I woke up I looked over at Ash. She was sleeping so peacefully. I placed my hand on her stomach and said a quick good morning to Kayla. She kicked my hand in return.

"Be good Kayla I've gotta go talk to the doctor that tried to take you from us" I told her. " Ok daddy" came her sleepy reply. I placed a gentle kiss on Ashes stomach then got up did my morning routine and quietly left the room.

Once I left I went to the kitchen to get some breakfast where I met Alpha Jones. I told him of my plans to which he agreed to come with me. I piled my plate with 3 pancakes, 2 pieces of sausage, 3 strips of bacon and some scrambled eggs.

I wolfed down my food (no pun intended), then looked to Alpha Jones who nodded he was ready.

As we were walking to his cell I couldn't help but wonder how many more of these attacks are we gonna have to go through before we could live peacefully?

Once we got to the dungeon the guards escorted us to the interview room then brought good ol' doc to us. It still infuriated me looking at him. Once they had him sat down and shackled to the table I started in.

"Why were you trying to abort my child? " I asked as calmly as I could. "I got a phone call from a lady telling me that her cousin was pregnant at a young age and their mate died. They couldn't handle the stress from losing their mate along with a pregnancy. The mother was young and didn't want to ruin the chance of having a second chance mate and him rejecting her because of a child. They told me the child couldn't live at all costs."

"Who told you all of this?" I roared furious that someone tried to kill my little girl and harm my wolf's mate by saying I was dead. Last I checked I'm still alive and breathing. "I.. I don't know who it was, they just said they were a relative trying to help their family member. That she was scared and not to listen if they backed out, that its what the mother really wanted." Good ol' doc replied.

"Do you have any proof of this?" Alpha Jones asked, sensing I was on the verge of a breakdown. "Sssure I do, I recorded the phone call just in case someone asked that way I have backup. I'm an ethical doctor who lives by my code. But also understand the pain of an unwanted pregnancy. When I first met my mate we talked about kids later after we had our careers settled. So imagine our shock when we have 2 years left of school and we find out we're having our first child. We love our son but wasn't anywhere near ready for him to come."

"Doc we're getting off topic here, you said you taped these calls we're are they?" I asked, becoming annoyed with his ramblings. "Oh they are here on my phone. If you could release at least one of my hands, I'll play it for you." Doc said.

I looked at Alpha Jones who nodded his head to one of the guards. When the guard walked up he felt doc's pockets, then reached into his left front retrieving his phone then placed it in his hands. Doc unlocked it then went to his recordings. He clicked on one then we heard.

"Is this Doc McConnel?" The caller asked. "It is, how can I help you miss?" Doc replied "I have a cousin who's mate recently passed away in a rogue attack. She found out she was pregnant and wanted to get rid of it, but her wolf won't let her. Her parents won't let her come home with a child and his parents don't want it as there's too many kids at their house right now. She's scared and doesn't know what to do. Could you possibly help her? " The caller states, sounding like they were in a hurry.

"This is a big ask of any doctor, has she thought of maybe adopting the child out once born? " Doc asked, hoping to sway her. "She doesn't want to risk finding a second chance mate, finding out she's given birth before." The caller states nervously.

"I could understand that have her come to me tomorrow, I'll do a checkup and see if an abortion is possible." Doc replied with sympathy now lacing his voice. "I will have to stage it like a k********g as her wolf wants the child. I'll have a few friends meet you with her at the old hospital. Everything you'll need will be supplied for the surgery. Just remember her wolf is strong and will fight back. You'll have to weaken her in order to be safe. No matter what she says or does, it's an act. That baby must not survive." The caller stated.

"You are aware that I have to get consent to do this right." We hear doc reply next. " I'll send you a signed consent form and the fees in two days time if that works for you." The caller states. " I'll be looking for it, but would really like to consult the mother before anything happens." Doc replies again trying his hardest.

" I'm sorry doc she's terrified her wolf would stop her so she asked me to set it up. She doesn't want anything to mess up the procedure." The caller stated. "I understand I'll be looking for the forms in two days' time then. Doc replied then the call was hung up.

I looked at Alpha Jones who was just as appalled as I was. "Do you still have the forms that were sent?" Alpha Jones asked. "I do it's in my office. I swear if I would have known the child's father was still alive and the mother was truly wanting her baby I would never have done anything like this. I'm a doctor who honors the code.

"I believe you, I'm sorry I came in like that. That's my baby girl even though she isn't born yet I'm so attached to her. She's a big daddy's girl, every night before I go to sleep I tell her I love her. I promise she hears me as she kicks my hand in response. If anything happened to her I'd lose it. She's my first child and we've already bonded. I'd be lost if I never got to hold her." I told him with tears in my eyes.

" I'm so sorry for putting you through all of this. In order to show my sincere apologies will you let me be in charge of her mothers prenatal care? " Doc asked with tears in his eyes. "If Ash doesn't mind I have no problem with it, but it's all up to her if she'll accept you." I told him.

"We'll release you but I'll need you to come with me straight to my office so I can make a copy of that recording then I'll need your secretary or someone from your office to meet us at the front door with that consent form." Alpha Jones informed him before nodding to the guard to release him.

Once he was free Alpha Jones took his phone then handed doc his and let him call his office with his phone. We headed out of the dungeons sandwiching good ol' doc. Upon reaching the front door we met his secretary who handed us the paperwork bowed to us then left. We got to Alpha Jones’ office where he copied the clips then let doc go.
