Parents Meeting Grey

Ashylnn's POV

Right after he said that I heard a knock on my door, in walked my parents with worried expressions. “Hi mom, hi dad what are you doing here?” I asked with a confused expression. “I was taking care of Luna Zoe today and had to hear from her that you were kidn*pped and now in the hospital. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing so I told your dad . As soon as he heard what I said he rushed here to double check if it was true.” Mom said with tears in her eyes.

“Mom, please don’t be sad. I just woke up not even twenty minutes ago. It was late last night when we got here and I was rushed into surgery. Someone tried to kill Kayla and almost succeeded.” I started with tears in my eyes hugging my mother.

“Where was Tucker when you got kidn*pped? I left you in his care when you left my home. If your life’s going to be in danger because of this child I don’t think you need to go any further with this pregnancy.” My father all but screamed at me.

“Dad, how can you say that? You know how important Kayla is to me. I’m sorry but I refuse to give her up. If that’s how you truly feel about her then I don’t think we need to speak to each other until after she’s born.” I told him trying to hold back my sobs. I don’t want Grey seeing me break again.

“I’m sorry princess, I don’t want to lose you. Plus I worry about what your mate will think when you find him and you’re either pregnant or have a child with another wolf. I know most guys want the first born to be theirs.” Dad states sadly while looking into my eyes. Guilt overwhelms me when I see the anguish in them.

“Well dad, why don’t you ask my mate what he thinks about Kayla since he’s sitting right here.” I reply with a small smile on my face. My dad turns his head with slight astonishment then looks at Grey.

Grey holds out his hand towards my father for a shake, “Hi I’m Grey Sebastian. I’m from the Black-Smith pack that’s about two hours away from here. I was visiting my cousin in the Redwoods pack when I heard a faint mind-link asking me to come here and find Alpha Jones and Tucker. I helped bring her back, I can promise though those two were doing everything they could to find her and bring her home.”

My dad shakes his hand thanking him profusely. “Then asked him what he thought about Kayla and the fact she wasn’t his.” Grey just smiled before replying “Any child Ashlynn has will be mine, whether I’m the father or not. I’ve only known Ash for half a day and already love her. Though she hasn’t told me much about Kayla I know she will soon.”

“So what are your plan’s for my daughter and granddaughter now that you’ve found them?” My dad simply asks without considering that I’m sitting right here. “I plan to move them back to my pack where my family will treat her like the queen she is. My sister will no doubt take her on huge shopping trips. She’s already so excited to hear that I’ve found her.” Grey I swear has the biggest smile on his face as he’s telling this to my dad.

“While you are accepting of my granddaughter, I’m not sure how your family would take the new’s. What would you do to protect her if my daughter moves into your pack with your family?” My dad asks nonchalantly.

“Well I was thinking how far along are you Ash?” Grey looked at me while asking. Not really paying attention to the conversation I replied “three and a half months.” “I could say that we found each other four months ago, and after recognizing each other we stayed together for a week. We created Kayla during that time then I was called home urgently. When I found her again I found out she was pregnant and had to sweet talk her into coming home with me.” Grey said with his face scrunched up thinking.

“Would your parents become suspicious with this answer?” Dad questioned again, giving him a hard stare. “They shouldn’t, I was away during that time doing warrior training and about two weeks later was called home as my pack was under attack.” Grey confidently stated.

“How confident are you that you could keep both of them safe if they go with you say tomorrow?” Dad asks again. Now that I’m paying attention the only thing I can think of is what’s with all of these questions? It’s like he’s become some kind of drill sergeant making me very uncomfortable. I’m not in Grey’s position, looking at him though I can tell he’s fine with everything almost like he’s done this a million times.

“We are amongst the top two ranked packs in the USA, only right behind yours. My Alpha I’m sure I could convince to come up with some type of Treaty with Alpha Jones to be able to secure their safety. I could guarantee I’d lay my life down to protect them though.” Grey was quick with his comeback. Almost too quick for me to be comfortable with.

“One last question before we get out of here, leaving you two lovebirds alone, how soon do you think we could hold a wedding?” Dad asked with a big smile on his face. “Dad we just met, we don’t even know each other yet. I’m not sure I’m ready to get married yet. I want to get to know him a little bit first before we start thinking about marriage.” I pleaded trying to get him to see my point of view

“What’s there to think about? He’s your mate, he will take care of you two like his most precious treasure. Now when we were younger me and your mother married the day after we met and conceived your brother on our wedding night. I don’t see why we should take things slow.” Dad was starting to get angry as he said this.

“I think we should have the wedding the week after her birthday, that's in two weeks. Oh how about we do a Halloween wedding that would be amazing even though you won’t be 18 yet. We could have everyone dress up and have different colored roses. This will be amazing. Grey, call your family and have them come here to meet us so we can set this up. You two won’t have to do anything, I'll do everything for you.” Mom said.

She pulls her to him, hugs him and simply states “Welcome to the family son.” I didn’t think things could get more awkward until I looked up and saw Tucker with pain in his eyes before he walked away.
