It’s been a couple weeks since the rogue attack. Things have settled down and gotten somewhat back to normal. I don’t get to see Tucker much since he’s been training everyday with Alpha Jones and sometime’s Brendon. I miss him a lot and Addy has been calling for him. I actually got Addy to calm down a bit by convincing the guards to go for a run with me.
Instead of the twenty to thirty guards that are normally around me, since I’ll be in wolf form only ten guards came with me. It was a very peaceful run but Addy kept trying to mind link Trent, whining when she couldn’t contact him. “Addy I’m sorry we’ll figure out a way to get Trent with us one of these days.” I told her in my head.
We found a nice little meadow that we laid down in. We rested for a while just soaking up the sunlight. It felt nice and peaceful for once in this crazy ride. I guess we fell asleep cuz I woke up in human form with the sun setting. I looked all around looking for the guards but couldn’t find anyone.
Starting to get scared I headed back towards the pack house. Suddenly I felt a prick in my neck then fell to the ground. “I finally got you now you bitch.” I heard before I fully blacked out.
When I came too I was in a cell chained up with silver chains. I heard a voice saying I want that baby killed anyway possible. I couldn’t understand what was going on. Why would someone want to hurt an innocent life that hasn’t been born yet? What had my daughter ever done to deserve this? How can I get out of here before they hurt my baby in any way? All these questions ran through my mind.
I tried to reach out to Addy, but something was blocking my connection with her. The silver chains were making me weak, but I pushed it aside. The moon goddess gave me this baby for a reason. I’m her protector, she said I was gonna be tested so now I’ve gotta prove to myself that I’m strong enough.
I could tell Kayla was worried, she wouldn’t settle down in my womb. I tried my best to console her but she only listened to her daddy. It didn’t help that I was freaking out either. Soon a man I didn’t recognize came into the room. “Do you know why you’re here?” He asked me. “Honestly, no I don’t. I’ve done nothing wrong.” I answered. He laughed “nothing wrong, nothing wrong. You’re carrying a child that belongs to another wolf’s mate. That child should not exist, but yet you still carry it.” You’re gonna watch as we take that child from you forcefully.
“My child is innocent. She is just a little being inside my body. She has nothing to do with this.” I replied, trying to keep the pain out of my voice. “Oh but that’s where you’re wrong young one your child has everything to do with this. Your child can’t be allowed to live.” The man said, before getting up to leave.
Once he was out the door I heard him say, “prepare for a cesarean section tomorrow. That baby has to die, it should have never even been conceived.” I tried to swallow the lump in my throat and not panic. Tomorrow, that’s not enough time. If she’s born tomorrow she’ll die. All this played through my mind on a loop before I started to cry.
TUCKER’S POV
Ashlynn’s missing, Trent’s going crazy, I’m irate and can’t stop looking. Ashlynn’s been missing for a week now and I’m no closer to finding her than I was on day one. It seems the guards who were assigned to watch her were all knocked out with tranquilizer dart’s. When we found them they had no clue what they were doing or who they were.
I tried to find Ashes scent but it was masked by something else. Something I can’t place. I’m so miserable and miss my little girl so much. She could always tell when I was upset and would take over her mommy to come talk to me. If I don’t find them soon I think imma go crazy.
Christa’s been doing her best to try and console me, but it isn’t working. Part of me is missing making me see red in more ways than one. I keep going back to the spot where we found the guards looking for any signs or clues I might have missed but keep coming up empty handed.
Finally Christa looked at me “Why don’t you just face the facts already? It’s obvious she took off. There’s no signs of a struggle, and no word from her at all. I’m here for you and you know that, but this new you kinda sucks.” She told me. “You really want me to give up looking for the woman who’s wolf is mated to my wolf? Who’s carrying my wolf’s child? Let me ask you this, would you want me to stop looking if it was you that was missing?” I angrily asked as I stormed away from her.
Christa ran up to me “I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that. I was just thinking that maybe she couldn’t handle seeing us together and decided to leave for a while.” She said with tears forming in her eyes. I pulled her into a hug “I know you didn’t mean anything bad by it, it’s just that I know Ashlynn. She would talk to me and tell me what’s bothering her. Especially now that the baby’s coming. Plus if she was going to take off she would have taken everything she’d bought for the baby with her.” I replied, trying to use the mate bond to calm my nerves.
Suddenly “Tucker, we've found something, you need to come to the Alpha’s office immediately.” Came through the mind link. I released Christa, “Sorry, I’ve got to go, something's come up and I’ve gotta go see Alpha Jones.” I said rushing off leaving Christa with a puzzled look on her face. As soon as I got to Alpha Jones’ office I heard “come in” without even knocking. As soon as he opened the door I heard “An Alpha can sense another Alpha,’’ with a chuckle. “Ah must be because I can always tell when Alpha Jones is close,” I thought in my mind.
“You wanted to see me Alpha?” “We’re both Alpha’s now you can just call me Brad, but yes we’ve caught a rogue that might be able to help us find Ashlynn and Kayla.” Alpha Jones replied. “That’s great news, where is he? We need to get this info from him and fast. I’ve got a bad feeling in my stomach.’’ I replied eagerly.“He’s down in the dungeons, we’ll head there now.” Alpha Jones stated getting up and signaling for me to follow.
Once we reached the dungeons there were just a few guards. The place looked like it hadn’t been used in a few years. Almost like he was reading my mind Alpha Jones said “ I think this is the first time I’ve had to use the dungeons during my time as Alpha.” I looked at him puzzled but followed him to the cell.
We ordered the guards to open the cell then walked in to question him. “Tell me rogue, did you have anything to do with the k********g of Ashlynn? How do we find her?’’ I screamed out, unable to hold back. “First off I’m not a rogue, my name is Grey. Secondly, I don't know anything about a k********g. I’m here visiting my cousin in the redwoods pack, when I caught the most amazing scent so I followed it to an abandoned hospital. When I got close I got a mind link saying ‘please help go to the blue jays pack tell the Alpha they're trying to kill Kayla then please bring them to me’ I tried to reply but was blocked so I came rushing here.”
I looked over to Alpha Jones knowing what this meant, this Grey guy was Ashlynn’s mate. Alpha Jones immediately mind linked the warriors, I told Grey to come with us and we ran to the cars. “Grey, this might sound weird but the scent you followed is your mates and she’s been kidn*pped. I can’t tell you who Kayla is at this moment, but your mates name is Ashlynn and she's an amazing girl. You’re a lucky guy just promise when you go in there that you’ll have an optimistic mind. There's a situation going on and Ashlynn will need you right now.” I told him, feeling my heartbreak as I let these words slip from my tongue
