Running

I did not know where I was at the moment. It seems I'm always losing my way or getting lost. After I left my "room", I was searching the halls for a door that led out of here. My nerves were high and I was on alert for anything that might get in my way. I had not let the gun out of my hand since I first got it. I know I did not have much time. It wouldn't be too long before Marcus woke up and told people I escaped. They would be looking for me soon. I was so close to giving up. It has been so long since I have heard or seen Diana. To be completely honest, I missed how smooth her voice sounded when ever she talked to me. I missed how gentle she used to be with me especially when she saw me upset or angry. She really tried her best to make me happy and comfortable with her. What if I never see her again? Then I came to this big wooden door. It seemed like the exit, but I was not to sure. I guess I would just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. When I opened those doors and was met by a fresh breeze and the smell of the nice air instead of the musty air I have been breathing down here, I was immediately calmed. I quickly ran out and closed the door, and thought to myself: I'm free. I ran for a while, and I don't know where. But I just would not stop. When the realization that I had absolutely no idea where I currently was or what town Diana even lived in, I started to panic. I remembered I had the phone and quickly called Diana again. She didn't answer, though. I kept on walking, hoping she would call back. When forty minutes went by and I finally saw her number flash on the screen, relief flooded through me. I immediately pressed answer. "Joanne? Where are you right now?" "Thank god. I don't know, but I am so scared. I left that place. I don't know how I managed, but now thinking of it, it was all so easy. There were no security and nobody walking throughout the halls. It almost seems as if they let me go. Diana, please come find me. Please..." "Joanne I need you to tell me where you are. We tried tracking that phone, but could not get a good signal. I need you to calm down and continue walking until you find something. Anything that can help us get an idea of where you are. Just take some breaths okay?" Her soothing voice and words were enough to make me relax some. "Okay." I continued walking for about 35 minutes, every now and then Diana asking me if I saw anything, until I walked into the outskirts of a town. "I think I am getting somewhere. Right now I am right outside of the town Backenson.  Do you know where that is? Please tell me you know where that is." "Joanne, I need you to listen to me. I am finding where it is right now, but you need to stay calm, remember? Stay calm for me okay? Now, just keep walking and try to find a hotel or restaurant or anything." "U-um okay. I just reached into town, and there is a big motel. Its name is just Backenson Motel.  Diana, have you found where I am right now?" "I have an idea, but I need you to do something, and make it fast. Do not freak out, okay? Just keep in mind that I will be there in about 2 hours, love." "NO! I can not wait two hours! Please Diana, com-" "Joanne! Listen to me. This is serious. You are by yourself, and what I am telling you is important. Just stay calm. So, that phone you have is not yours. But, it isn't exactly the persons you got it from either. The phone you're using is the company phone. Odds are, there is a built in tracker in it that they can access at any point. I need you to take the battery out of the phone and throw the entire thing far away from you." "I can't Diana! I want to stay on the phone with you. Please do not leave me." "It is the only way for you to be safe. We know where you are and we're already on our way to get you. I have to go now. Do not be stupid Joanne, throw that phone. I will be there soon, I promise." With that, she hung up. Slowly, but surely, I started freaking out. I know what she told me to do, but I didn't want to do it. I wanted to hear her voice until she got here. I wanted to feel her touch right now. I wanted her to hold me and tell me all the cliché things like how everything will be alright and she will never let anything happen to me again. I did as she told me and threw the phone after taking the battery out. I then sat on a bench right across from the motel. I didn't notice how tired I was until I felt my eyes growing heavy. Then, once again, I was met with blackness.
