Chapter 10 Galen left work at one-thirty Thursday afternoon, as the plan was for the group to meet at Rénald’s house at two. Deciding it was his turn to drive, he tried to call Marc at the station house to say he’d pick him up in ten minutes. He reached the desk sergeant instead, who told him Marc was out on a case. “Well, that sucks,” Galen muttered, hanging up. “What if he doesn’t show up at the house before we have to leave?” He got to Rénald’s a few minutes later, parked, and was walking up the path to the front door when his phone rang. He answered to hear Marc say to someone, obviously not him, “Have Carson take him in and book him. You’ll have to do the interrogation.
