Chapter 7 Rénald’s home was, much to Galen’s surprise, on a residential street not too far from Tulane University. For some reason he had expected it to be fairly remote, or at least well set off from any neighbors. When he said as much, after his father let him in, Rénald replied, “Now why would I want to sequester myself away from the life of the city? Yes, I can afford to buy a lonely plantation somewhere well away from everything. But I can’t think of a duller life.” As they talked, Rénald led Galen into a large living room.
