~ Third Person's POV ~
“What are you thinking about, Brother Damon?” Asher stood behind his eldest brother as Damon seemed curious about something.
He was crouching down on the ground while he was busy analyzing what exactly happened in their absence. Trinity had already left the forest with Bella.
Leah was getting annoyed as the quads were not paying any attention to her. She was cursing Trinity in her head.
“Everything feels so weird. Rogues never really come out from their hideouts, so why did that rogue attack the professor?” Damon touched the ground which was still covered with the professor's blood.
“You are curious about that? I am still amazed that the girl who used to throw herself at Seth suddenly pushed him away.
She even denied having any sort of relationship with him. Is she finally going to break up the engagement with you, Brother Seth?
You must be feeling so relieved, right? Kai felt happy for his brother, but instead of feeling relieved, Seth was getting restless because of the sudden change in Trinity.
He was not able to figure her out.
"She would break up the engagement with me. Nah, something like that could even happen." Seth refused to accept that Trinity could ever do such a thing. He was certain that she was infatuated with him.
Leah tried to gain his attention by embracing him from behind. Seth didn't push her away as she was the only way through which he could stop thinking about his so-called chosen mate.
If it was not his father's order to get engaged with someone like Trinity, then he would never have even looked at someone like her.
She might be the daughter of the alpha, but she doesn't have anything that would benefit him or his pack.
There were many she-wolves who were ready to throw themselves at him, and Seth never pushed them away. Just like how he is not pushing Leah away.
He pulled her towards him by gently grabbing her wrist. He placed his hands on her face.
“I thought that you started to feel bad about that charity case. Why can't she just leave you alone?” Leah complained.
Seth tried to pacify her by telling her that he was not at all worried about Trinity.
“Never! She is nothing to me, love.
This must also be one of her new tactics to make me accept her relationship in front of others.” Seth wrapped his arms around her waist while she chuckled in his arms.
Damon sighed when they looked at the couple. There were people who were waiting for his orders, so he ignored Leah’s request. She was telling him to join them in the river as they were planning to go for a swim.
“If you want to go, you can go alone, Leah. My brothers and I are kind of busy right now. Also, we need to attend Bella's birthday tomorrow.
I believe that you still haven't prepared a gift for her, right?” Damon got up from the ground and turned to look at Leah.
She thought that Seth would defend her, but instead of taking her side, he immediately removed his hands around her waist.
“Why should I prepare a gift for her? I warned her not to get closer to that trash, but she dared to ignore my words.” Leah clenched her fists in anger.
Damon walked towards her when he saw that she treated him the same way she treated Seth.
“Who are you? Who are you to ignore my words? Bella is the Beta’s daughter in her pack. She is like a sister to us. I usually ignore you and your stupidity.
Don't target people using our names. If you want to vent your anger, then why don't you challenge her in a fair fight? Are you afraid that you will lose her?
If you want to continue staying at Rosewood High then make sure that I don't start to find you annoying.” Damon smiled whilst he kept his hand on Leah's shoulder, making her shiver in fear.
Leah was well aware what exactly the meaning was behind that smile. Even in the academy, nobody was able to get close to Damon. Someone like him never trusts others.
He was cold as an iceberg, and nobody was able to understand what was going on inside his head.
Damon usually doesn't care about anyone, but if he becomes interested in something, he won't stop finding out more about that thing until he is fully satisfied.
“I will go and prepare a gift for Bella.” After saying those words, she rushed outside the forest without even looking back.
Kai cleared his throat as there were people who were waiting for the quads to make the decision about the rogues.
“Should we go and search near the borders? We might still find the rogue who dared to kill the professor of our academy.” One of the pack members of the Blood River Pack said while he gazed at the quads.
Seth and Kai agreed to search for that rogue, but Asher was waiting for Damon’s decision.
Being the eldest among the quads made him a little stronger than them, and his words held more power compared to his brothers.
They were all the next Alphas of their pack, but being the eldest, he was supposed to be more responsible than his brothers.
“No need. I don't want to waste my time. That professor deserved that sort of ending. Leave the body for the wild animals.” Damon wiped his hands on the handkerchief that Asher gave him.
He rolled his shirt’s sleeves while he looked at the moonless night sky.
“You are acting quite differently after meeting with that girl, Damon. I believed that you were the one who was least interested in her. Are you finally going to help her out?
Are you going to warn the students to not mess with her?” Seth asked his brother and he believed that Damon would deny everything, but to his surprise, his eldest brother remained mum.
He neither accepted nor refused what Seth was asking him.
Kai was confused why his brothers were acting in such a way, and that too, because of that girl? He wanted to intervene, but Asher stopped him.
“I know what you are thinking, but if you say anything right now then things will definitely become more intense, so let's not make it more difficult for both our brothers.” Asher said to his youngest brother, while Kai simply nodded.
“Why do you care, little brother? Don't tell me that you suddenly started to reconsider your engagement with her? It's not like she is your fated mate.” Damon smirked at him.
Everyone was aware that the quads had still not found their fated mate, and as they are the only quads in the werewolf clan, they believed that they might not be able to find the mate that the moon goddess had chosen for them.
There is a possibility that if they found one, then they might have to share the fated mate with each other.
Seth loves his brothers, but he is someone who hates to share toys with others.
Seth tried to control himself as he didn't want to snap at Damon in front of the other pack members, “You do know that we could not accept the one goddess chose for us, right?
As for Trinity… I really don't care what you are going to do with her, so you can enjoy yourself until you get bored with her. I don't have anything to do with her. She is just a burden to me and nothing more.”
Damon didn't say anything to him.
Instead, he felt a sharp pain in his chest when he gazed towards the territory of Alpha Cain, the leader of the Mystic Moon Pack.
“Something is definitely not right.” Damon mumbled to himself while his eyes were fixed on Trinity's packhouse.
