After whisking Julia away, Landon took her straight to the his home.
"Are we really heading straight to your place like this?"
Julia hesitated, feeling their so-called engagement was a bit of a charade. Returning to his home might stir up some gossip.
"I've already called the doctors to the house." Landon finally spoke, relieved to see Julia unharmed. "Luke said that after you returned to the Blair family, there was no news. The Blairs told me that you were unwell and wanted to stay home for a few days. I didn't think much of it until I hadn't heard from you for days, so I went there myself."
At this point, Landon felt a stab of guilt.
"If I'd realized it sooner, I could have spared you some suffering. Don't worry, I'll handle everything. The Blairs won't bother you again."
