Chapter 18
The boys worked out with Jujitsu in the garage, and Brian insisted on keeping notes on the things they disagreed to ask Sensei later.
Later, they undressed to their briefs and slipped into bed in the basement. Brian wore blue briefs that obviously excited Jim. The heat wave had passed, but Brian still hated being in his room, needing the protection of the basement.
Jim protested. “I don’t want to sleep here. Why can’t we go to your bedroom?”
Brian got pissy. “You go if you want to.”
“If I wanted to sleep alone, I’d go home.”
“Then maybe that’s just what you should do.”
Jim’s anger obviously got the best of him. He gathered his clothes and went upstairs. Brian slept like crap, hugging Jim’s pillow.
