Chapter 23 September rolled around faster than Jim or Brian had wanted. Brian had been in a downward spiral like a fighter plane in flames, and the stress of being a freshman in college added to his emotional burden. Most people in San Jose were white, with a strong peppering of Asians, Mexicans, and blacks, which reflected in the students at San Jose Community College.
