A few days after George’s arrest, Jim’s mom left for work in the morning, and Jim made a beeline for Brian’s house. He knew Brian would be alone, his dad having left two hours ago. He let himself in via the side door to find Brian putting the finishing touches on awesome omelets, grilled ham, toast, and homemade jelly.
Brian looked up. “Hey, dude, you must have radar for food.”
“Well, someone has to eat all of that. I see you were expecting me, having made two omelets. It is me you’re expecting, right?”
“That’s a cool necklace.”
Jim smirked as he touched the thick braided leather necklace and pewter peace symbol that made him feel sexy. A while back, he’d seen some male singer on TV wearing one and had hunted till he found one like it.
