Chapter 12 Jim got home from the party at seven P.M. and wasn’t terribly shocked to find George sitting at the dinner table and talking to Mom like everything was fine. He expected, against his hopes, that Mom would keep him away. Jim wanted to throw up. Mom wore her best housedress and a necklace Jim hadn’t seen for a long time.
