The New Guy

My alarm blares and wakes me up way too soon. I was having the perfect dream about Ley shirtless and helping me with my backstroke while on top of me. Dang, he is so sexy, d**n you stupid clock. I looked out the window, seeing the light of the sun rise above the willow tree outside my room. Remembering it was a dreaded Monday, I dragged myself out of bed to the bathroom. I splashed my face with cold water hoping it would help me wake up. I grab a towel and wipe my face. Opening my eyes, I stared at myself in the mirror. I think to myself, I'm not that bad looking. Maybe if I straighten my hair and use my push up bra Ley would definitely want my number. I start to remember my dream of Ley and I in a swimming pool. He swims closer to me with his dropdread smile and blue eyes that makes me moist. He came right up to me pressing his body into my chest. I can feel my body against his responding with heat and a shiver goes up my back, his arms wrap around my waist. My legs automatically open and wrap around his pelvis. He whispers “Can I kiss you?’ I nod my head.

“Jade, I'm leaving in 15 min.” my dad yells from downstairs, breaking me of my horny girl fantasy.

Realizing, I don’t have time to straighten my thick black hair. I opt out for a high ponytail. I put on some mascara, thank goodness my best friend Megan teaches me how to do these things. I ran to my closet and threw on my push up bra, a pair of ripped jeans, and a black shirt with the words “YOLO” on it. I look in the mirror one more time before I leave my room.

Downstairs, it was like every morning. Dad is dressed in his polo shirt and slacks holding his to go cup of coffee. James is on his laptop, probably answering emails. Jacob is nowhere in sight, he is still sleeping or never came home. Jack is in the kitchen standing next to the toaster with air pods in his ears, waiting for the toast. Typical Monday morning.

Dad, James, and I tell Jack bye and head to the car. As we open the doors to get in, my dad stops and gets a really intense stare on his face. I automatically look in the direction he is staring at. I don’t see anyone or anything strange or out of place. I notice James coming by my open door and stands in front of it, almost like he was shielding me from something. I stay quiet trying to catch what they are looking at. After a minute, my dad got in and started the car.

“Dad, what did you see?” I asked him. He replies “I thought I smelled something, but it was only for a moment”.

I saw James' eyes cloud over and knew he must be mindlinking with our father. Fine, I thought, you guys want to hide sh*t from me? Well, guess what, I don't give a sh*t.The ride to school was in silence. Even when they dropped me off at the upper campus, I just got out and walked away, without saying goodbye. I can be an a** too.

Sitting in first period Chemistry s*cked, the teacher gave so much homework and the content was presented in the most boring way possible. Chemistry is all about combining substances to make a reaction, but this was painful. My mind started to roam to naughty places. I wonder what Ley is wearing today? I wonder if he likes dark hair, blondes, or redheads? Wonder if he is a good kisser? My train of thought was interrupted by the sound of chairs scraping the floor and students getting up from their seats. Oh boy this is going to be a long day.

At lunch time, I walked into the cafeteria and saw my friends sitting at our table in the corner. I walked over and greeted Megan, Kyle, and Flo.

“Hi guys, how was your weekend?” Megan responded first with “OK, but did you hear the big news?” “No” I replied, grateful for some excitement. “There is a new student and he is drop dead gorgeous”. “Suzie said, she had him in first period calculus and all the girls are swooning, it's the blonde hair and blue eyes they love” Megan said. That definitely piqued my interest. No one ever transfers to Casper high school, especially a month before graduation. Plus they're gorgeous? I need to see myself.

As if on cue, my friends get quiet and everyone looks to the entrance of the cafeteria. I saw everyone in the cafeteria still and are staring in the direction of the entrance. I see Ley and the track team boys, but next to him is the God Thor himself. He was tall built. I could see his biceps bulging in his shirt. His hair was pulled into a man bun, damn, I love that sh*t. He was wearing jeans and a simple blue shirt. He could have made a prison suit look sexy. The best feature was his smile. Wow, what a panty dropper smile.

Flo nudged me from my daze and said “Girl, your drooling". I quickly turned my head and pretended to be unimpressed.

“Yeah, he is OK” I said. Megan replied “Don’t lie, he is a God”. I couldn't argue with that, but I tried to change the subject quickly, so I didn't have to think of Thor over there.

“Wanna hang out after Track practice?” Kyle finally chimed in. He is on the track team too. “I’m down to hang. Should we go to the Fort or Anna’s Diner?”I asked. Megan jumped in, “ Let's go to the diner and then to my house”. “That sounds perfect,” I replied.

All of a sudden, my wolf instincts kicked in and my body went stiff. That’s when I heard his voice.

“Hey, Kyle, Jade, this is the new guy, Devin. He is going to join the track team. Couch said he would help us win states”, Ley said. Oh sh*t I thought. Is he going to be on the team? I slowly turned around and saw those piercing blue eyes staring at me and I froze. He’s a werewolf, oh sh*t. Hoping my voice didn't seem shaky, I said, “Hi, I'm Jade. This is Megan, Flo, and Kyle”.

They all said “hi”. Megan couldn’t help batter her eyelashes and give him her killer smile. For some reason my body is acting weird, my palms are sweaty, my stomach is doing flips and it takes a great effort to talk.

Devin smiles and says “Hi, it's nice to meet you all. Jade, is it? You're on the track team too?” I instantly got offended. Who does this guy think he is? Why do I look like I'm not competition? I can totally take you on prick.

“Why? Do I not look like I should be on the team?” I responded. Ley quickly jumps in “Jade, he didn’t mean it like that.” Ley turns to Devin and says “Jade is one of our fastest runners on the team.”

Devin's face suddenly changes and he says, “I didn't mean it like that, I'm sure you're an excellent runner. I only asked because I never saw someone as pretty as you running track before”.

I can feel my cheeks blush and I know there is a red tint to them. Megan, at this point, is giggling loudly, Flo’s eyes are round saucers and Kyle has a smirk on his face. Then I looked at Ley’s face, it looked like he was surprised and shocked by Devins' comment. What's that about? I need to leave this table.

“Thanks, I'll see you guys at practice,” I said. I pick up my backpack and leave the table without looking back.
