Second Reincarnation: The Inept Prince Greatest Comeback

Test Flight and New Projects.

The day of the test has arrived. High-ranking officials are seated in the observatory place specially placed just on the side of the airstrip.

Gerald’s parents and his friends are watching from the side and are waiting for this day to come. No one has ever seen a big plane before.

Ivan stood on the podium and announced.

“Everyone! This is the day we’ve been waiting for. A new type of aircraft that will revolutionize flights. In the recent inventions of aircraft. We’ve only built small aircraft but Gerald, who’s the second prince of the Brittia Empire designed a plane that is completely different from the earlier variants. Today, I present to you a project called Hercules! That we secretly built this past year.”

The gate of the hangar opened when Ivan ended his speech. They saw a big piece of metal coming out of it and when it was completely out of the hangar. They are bewildered and shocked. What they saw is a real C-130 with four propellers, two propellers on each wing. It taxis on the airstrip and readied itself to take off.

“What, the? How did something big be able to fly? Is it possible?”

“I don’t think so. But if the Brittia were to successfully fly that thing. Then it's bad.”

“Rest easy, we need to know if that thing works or not”

“Your fiance is riding that plane, Lady Catarina!” Elise's eyes widened after seeing the aircraft.

“....Hmm….” She was speechless.

Meanwhile, inside the cockpit. Two pilots are conducting a pre-flight sequence. The person beside him was a pilot that tested the first aircraft created.

“It’s an honor to fly with you, your Majesty. Although there’s a lot of buttons and a small lever here, I will do my best.”

That man's name is Ejay. A renowned pilot in the Empire of Brittia. Though there is no airforce in the kingdom yet. But the Empire plans to create as soon as possible. Everyone on the continent knew that there will be a major war happening in the future. But now one knows who will start it.

The wars he wrote in his book are just minor wars and territorial disputes. It will not result in a world war. He wasn’t even sure if those dooms will happen accordingly. He changed the timeline when he proposed the idea of stopping the revolution that granted the Empire more power. The Empire who was the strongest became stronger.

“Just follow my leads and everything will be fine.” He assured while conducting a pre-flight.

“All system are normal”

“Good,” He said and his face turned serious.

The spectators from the side saw that the propellers began to turn. Gerald placed his hand to the throttle and moved it all the way to gain speed.

The plane is beginning to increase its speed over time. It was faster than the small aircraft they created before.

The bird made of mighty steel soars through the sky and everyone was dumbfounded. It really flew in the sky. Now the question is how long will the aircraft stay in the air? To Gerald, it can stay for as long as eight hours without landing.

“We will reach the altitude of twenty thousand feet in two minutes” He warned.

“This plane can go further?”

“That’s right. It can reach higher than thirty thousand feet without payload. And if there’s a payload then the ceiling height of this aircraft is 26,000 ft. The maximum load that this aircraft can carry based on my calculations is 20,000 kilograms.”

“Really that much? This plane is awesome then.”

Then Gerald banked the plane to the right and saw the Empire from the skies. Everything looks small in the windows. Then they also soared into the clouds and everything was covered with clouds.

From a ground perspective, the aircraft leaves a trail of white smoke on its engine. A plane that is big and heavy but able to attain greater heights. Everyone was astonished.

Ivan looked at the sky as his eyes were following the aircraft path. This will really help the Empire grow in terms of military and economics. Though Gerald told that he has a lot of variety of aircraft designs on his sleeves. He will get them no matter what no matter the cost after seeing the Hercules works.

“Ivan!” A man called him in a dignified voice. It was the king of Brittia.

He approached the king and bowed, “What can I do for you, your Majesty?”

“Can you procure more of that?”

“As long as we have the materials we can. But, if you want to mass-produce it. I suggest that we wait for new designs that Gerald will present.”

“Hoh? Did he really say that?” The king said.

“He even called defense contractors from all over the Empire. Also, he called car industries as he also said that he will have new vehicle designs. “

“My son is really marvelous huh? Then, do everything that you can do to make his designs turn to live. Just by seeing that aircraft. My trust in him in regards to technology skyrocketed.”

“Me too, I thought he was all talk.”

“Ara, I was also called by my son regarding the new train designs.” Cecile butted in the conversation.

“Mama, did my brother really design that aircraft?” A girl who sat in her lap said.

“That’s right!”

“Cool! I want to hug my brother even more.”

After two hours of flight test. The plane successfully landed at the airports. Everyone applauded at the performance of the aircraft. As investors and foreign dignitaries begin to flood Ivan, the company who built the plane, to buy the aircraft for themselves.

But Ivan convinced them that it will take time for the plane to be commercialized. He is sure that there is a more beautiful plane than Hercules.

The two pilots of the plane exited the plane and a round of applause resounded the airfield. They saw a young prince of the Brittia Empire. Gerald greeted them with a handshake all the way until he reached the location of his family.

“You’re a hell of a pilot, your highness. I truly admire your piloting skills.” Ivan said bowing to him.

“Come on, I’m the one who designed it so I should know how to fly it. It’s common sense.”

“I see, then regarding the presentation of yours. Are you saying that there are a lot of designs you want us to take?”

“Yes.

“Then, I’ll have my colleagues to prepare ourselves.”

“Yep, see you in the palace.”

One-by-one his family congratulated him with their heartfelt praise. Alice, his sister whose height doesn’t reach 150 centimeters, hugged his waist. He then carried his sister who was eager to see him.

Alice then hugged her tightly in his head.

“Brother, I love you! I love you, I love you!” She declared repeatedly while Gerald can’t breathe.

“I know, I know, so let your brother breathe.” His voice was muffled due to her tight hug.

“You really surpassed me in terms of science and engineering, Gerald”

Roland's voice sounded from behind Alice. His vision was restricted thanks to Alice’s body. So, he tilted his head to return the praise.

Then, two girls followed. It was Catarina and Elise who seems to be waiting in line.

“What’s stopping you? You can hug me like my sister here” He said while carrying his sister in his arms.

“Hmmph, like I would do that,” Elise said averting her face away from him.

“Cold.”

“Congratulations on your invention Gerald.”

Then a soft soothing voice sounded from Catarina. His fiance praised her. It must have been a lucky day for him.

“Catarina, you can kiss and hug your beloved fiance who successfully invented a new aircraft design and flew it.”

“Well, if you want it so badly then…” She immediately approached him and kissed him on the cheek. She also hugged him, embracing both Gerald and Alice.

From Elise's perspective, it looks like a family picture. But they don’t have a child yet. It looked cute when the two of them do something family-like.

“I would prefer a mouth-to-mouth kiss…”

Then someone's foot can be felt in Gerald's left foot.

“Don’t get ahead.”

“Ow.”

Back in the Royal Palace where everything was a success. He prepared himself again to present more kinds of aircraft. Defense contractors, Investors, and the like are waiting for him in the presentation room.

The presentation room looked similar to a theater where Gerald stood in front of many people while presenting his products. This time, he will offer products to respective companies and the proprietary right will be sold as well.

Gerald stood at the podium and behind him was a pile of drawing storage tubes that contained blueprints.

Shipbuilding companies, aerospace companies, and defense contractors are present in the presentation hall.

“Now, it seems like everyone is here. Let us start the presentation in regards to new technology that the military will be using to safeguard our country and its interest. I consulted my father and said that he will pass a new bill regarding modernizing the army and reorganizing it in the process. You’re the company that I chose because I believe that you can achieve and execute my designs flawlessly.”

He stopped for a moment and grabbed some tubes from behind that contained the blueprints.

He showed the tube to them and said.

“First we need to improve our navy first. We have an aging fleet and most of them are at the age of 20 years old and it wasn’t even used in combat. I believe that countries like the Fatherland have been concentrating on strengthening their military these past few years and the Francois Republic as well. The Empire sees them as a threat so my father will introduce a new bill tomorrow that will strengthen our military so we cannot be left behind in arms race.”

Regarding this world. Modern weaponry that can be dated from world war two is present in this world. Magic is also present here but only in a form of necklace, rings, pendants et cetera. Magic can be used by the royal family for their personal use or in combat. Gerald doesn’t have one yet since he hasn't graduated from the military academy. He’s only yet to enroll in the next year.

“First we tackle the air force. There is a variety of aircraft that have different uses such as, fighter aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft, attack aircraft, electronic warfare, transport, multi-role, et cetera. I have aircraft designs for each one of them.”

Hearing that the aerospace companies let out a sigh of admiration.

“As for the lands we have artillery cannons, tanks, military trucks, new kinds of vehicles et cetera.”

“In the sea, I will present a new type of warship called a destroyer, aircraft carriers, frigates, cruisers, and submarines.”

Though he only knew how to craft them since he is an avid lover in the military. But his specialty in engineering is aeronautics. This is why he knows so much about aircraft.

Being able to graduate so early, gather more experience, and medical knowledge is worth it. With this, he can really modernize the world to the point similar to the digital era. As for computers, he has a handful of experience in it. Thanks to one of his colleagues who is a computer engineer and also a top scientist in NASA. He taught him a lot of things regarding computers.

There is a magic tool that he needs to finish this plan. Which is the “Headband of Memories” A magic tool that is secretly kept in the treasury where he will have access to his past memories vividly as if it happened just a second ago. Since he is a royal, he will have easy access.

“There is one question that most of us needed answering.” Ivan stood in his seat.

“What is it?” He said.

“How did you come up with that equipment? There is no study on it nor experiment and you are confident that it will work. Just like before where you presented me with the C-130 Hercules.”

Gerald understands his dubious stance about this matter. He is technically right but he can’t answer that he came from another world and learned all of those in his past 43 years.

“There’s only one answer that I can give to you.”

When he said that, everyone leaned forward.

“I’m a genius. I don’t limit myself to those that are unknown. I explored it with my mind, simulated it over and over to achieve the final craft. Or in short, I am just a genius guy who loves science so much.”
