Chapter 19 A Lethal Confrontation Between the Terrans and the Zetans.

1375 Words
A few days later, the Terran expeditionary force led by Emma Schindler and her right-hand-man Wilhelm Brandt entered the portal to the Divine Dimension They were meant as scouting party that would examine the possibility to move in quickly and kill Rangda to end Xenos threat to Earth. Hilda Muller had refused to send a more significant force as they had no reliable information on what was on the other side, and it seemed foolish to send in the main army without knowing where the portal would take them and prepare properly. After entering the portal, Emma Schindler and her troops were in awe of the beauty and tranquillity they faced in the Divine Dimension. After a while, they checked their sensors, and to their relief, the sensors indicated that the air was safe to breathe. Another thing surprised Emma; that her wristwatch froze in time, only sporadically moving a second at a time. Having set up her troops in a proper formation, Emma Schindler activated the mobile sensor trying to find the Xeno horde so that she could carry out a quick commando mission. Even though the sensors supposedly had a 100,000-kilometre range, the Xenos were nowhere to be seen. The only things that showed up on the sensors were a group of 20 beautiful God-like creatures that Emma assumed to be Zetans and they were not far away. Emma turned to Wilhelm to discuss their options. -          So, none of the aggressors are within range for our sensors, what do you suggest we do? Wilhelm Brandt: -          Well from what we have been told, this is an almost endless plain. We can’t drive around in our hovercrafts and search blindly, or we’ll end up out of fuel and supplies in the middle of nowhere. Emma Schindler: -          Yes, but the only species that are around are the Zetans, and our orders are to stay clear of them if possible, as we don’t know their disposition to us humans and we don’t want to create more enemies. Wilhelm Brandt: -          So, what do you want to do? Run back Earth and admit failure, days after our promotion? -          According to our Xeno captive, the Zetans and the Xenos are mortal enemies. Surely the Zetans will be happy to help us. Emma Schindler: -          And what if they are hostile? Wilhelm Brandt: -          Why would they be, there are 400 of us and only 20 of them. I doubt they survived this long by being suicidal! Emma Schindler: -          You’re right. Let’s establish contact with the Zetans and see if they can assist us! After this, Emma and her troops started advancing against the Zetans in their hovercrafts and half an hour later they approached the Zetan Vanguard, led by Thor. Emma Schindler approached them and spoke into a universal translator that was set to translate the message to an array of ancient languages, as Ramun had informed them that the Zetans had posed as Gods for humans in the past, during the ancient times: -          I am Emma Schindler, in charge of this Terran Council expeditionary force. We are here to attack the Xenos and their queen Rangda, in retaliation for them attacking Earth. As the universal translator was conveying the same message in a variety of ancient languages, Thor spoke: -          No need for a universal translator, feeble human. We have studied you for millennia and can articulate your current language. -          We appreciate that you are coming with weapons and vehicles as offerings to us, and suggest that you leave them here and walk back to the portal, so no-one needs to die. Wilhelm Brandt intervened: -          We are not here to surrender our weapons and hovercrafts to an alien species; we are here to kill Rangda of the Xenos, whose attacks have caused massive damage to Earth. If you know where the Xenos are, you’ll tell us now, and no-one will get hurt! Thor roared: -          I will not tolerate being threatened by a lowly human. Take this! After shouting this, Thor threw his magical hammer, hitting Wilhelm Brandt, who was sent flying hundreds of meters backwards! Emma ducked for cover, and a barrage of lasers and bullets rained down on the Zetans. This was to no avail though as the bullets were absorbed by the Zetans ballistic energy absorbers and dropped motionless to the ground and the lasers were redirected by Zetan prismatic deflectors, causing them to hit the hovercrafts and destroying most of them. The Terran fighters hadn’t given up though, and equipped with plasma swords and reinforced diamond shields, they charged at the Zetans. A fierce battle ensued where the physically and mentally superior Zetans were swarmed by Emma’s tenacious Terran troops.  The humans managed to snatch the victory surprisingly, after Emma had managed to sneak up on Thor and decapitated him with a forceful blow from behind, with her plasma sword. Seeing their leader killed, the remaining Zetans ran away from the battlefield.  Some of the human soldiers wanted to pursue them, but Emma ordered them to stay back.  After the battle, Emma overlooked the battlefield. It was a disaster. Most of her vehicles were destroyed, half of her soldiers were dead or injured, and she had unwittingly managed to draw humanity into conflict with another species. Walking around among the dead, Emma found an injured Zetan, Anumati, and they began to speak. Anumati: -          Why did you attack us? The Xenos will come soon. You have doomed us all. Emma: -          We didn’t attack, we only responded to the attack from your leader. Anumati: -          Yes, Thor was a bit overzealous, still believing himself to be a God to your species. He couldn’t accept that times have changed, and we are closer to equals now. -          Anyways, we must move. This place is swarming with Xenos, and we can no longer form a psionic barrier that keeps them away. Emma: -          What are you talking about? We scanned the surroundings with infrared sensors. There are no Xenos within a 100,000 kilometres radius. Anumati: -          They can mask their infrared heat signature, but they can’t hide their psionic presence, I predict that they will attack very soon. Before Emma could answer, there was a loud scream of pain as a Xeno suddenly appear out of thin air and stabbed and bit an unsuspecting soldier. Emma got up and looked around. Xenos were coming from everywhere, and there were thousands of them swarming in on her unprepared and exhausted soldiers. Emma made a quick decision. She didn’t like the concept of abandoning her soldiers, but Hilda and the council needed to know what had happened on this day. She found a functional hovercraft and dragged Anumati onto it and set her course to the portal back to Earth. The Xenos heard the starting of her engines and a large group of them jumped onto it and started tearing the hovercraft to shreds. “Just a little bit longer,” Emma said to herself as she was approaching the portal. Suddenly Anumati screamed out in angst: -          We can’t go through the portal yet. I must eat and drink, as I have no energy left in my physical body. Thousands of years of starvation and being in the other realm will instantly kill me when I leave the timelessness of the Divine Dimension. Emma: -          I am sorry, but I am unable to feed you right now. Hold tight! Emma crashed her hovercraft through the Divine Dimension, and she ended up back in the city of Rashidium, outside the Cheops pyramid. The Xenos that had clung onto her hovercraft were swiftly killed by the automated defences that were set up around the portal. When the shooting had ceased Emma sighed of relief. She had survived this ordeal, and at least she had a valuable prisoner with her that could give invaluable insights and technology. Emma turned to Anumati, but what she saw shocked her. Crossing the dimensional rift had indeed instantly killed and mummified the Zetan captive to a stiff log!
