Chapter 28 : Dad?*

Kurt looked around quickly for a container. He managed to shove a bin under Alannah’s nose before she plucked again.

“I am going to kill that f*****g prick!” Alannah grumbled between heaves. Kurt put his hand on her back rubbing it.

“It is OK, Alannah!” he said soothingly.

 Theo burst into the room, along with James and Grace. 

“Alannah has been vomiting since she came round!” Kurt reported.

“It is a good sign, her body is correcting itself!” Grace said.

“Urgh!” Alannah said as Grace passed her a tissue to wipe her mouth. 

“Sorry!” Alannah said looking at the sick on the floor. “I get up and clean it” 

“No, you won’t!” Grace said putting her hand on Alannah’s shoulders and pushing her back in bed. “You need rest and fluids. I don’t understand how the drug got into your system in the first place!”

“That part is easy! Akihiko nails were soaked in the drug so when it pierces his opponent's skin, goes directly into their bloodstream. It is an old Ninja trick and I can’t believe I feel for it!” Alannah said frustrated.

“Here drink this, it will make you feel better!” Grace said

“Thank you!” Alannah said as she sipped the rehydration salts. Maya came in and started to clean the vomit up.

“Maya, please don’t!” Alannah said embarrassed.

“Oh hush child! It is not the first time I cleaned your sick up!” Maya said.

“So..” Kurt said awkwardly.

“So...Theo is my long lost father?” Alannah said. She really could not stand the tense and awkward atmosphere.

Maya snorted and said, “Are you that surprised?”

 To everyone surprised Alannah burst out laughing. She put her hand on her forehead and continued to laugh like a madwoman.

“Alannah are you alright?” Kurt asked concerned.

“After all these years! After everything, I have been through! After all the judgements, the pain and the broken bones. After then I find out I am Evans!” Alannah said still laughing.

“She is just shocked that is all” Grace mumbled.

“No, no. I am fine. I mean it does not change anything, does it?” Alannah said dismissively. 

“Alannah..” Kurt said patiently.

“Maybe we should give these two some space, I am sure these two need some time to process what is happened!” Grace said herding everyone out of the room. Kurt grumped but Grace pulled him out and shut the door.

“So..” Theo said rubbing the back of his head.

“So..” Alannah replied.

“So, I am your Dad,” Theo said awkwardly.

“Are you sure?” Alannah asked.

“Erm, yes!” Theo said.

“How?” Alannah asked.

“Your blood condition, Haemochromatosis Type 3, well it is rare and I have it!” Theo said.

 “So, you are the one who saved me then, after the Jaded Moon?” Alannah said.

“Yes!” Theo said simply.

“Something must have tipped you off?” Alannah said.

“The locket, I gave it to your mother when we were engaged. Look, I am not very good with words, I had no idea Emily was alive..never mind that you existed! If I had there was no way that I would not have been there!” Theo said.

“You thought my mum was dead? You didn’t abandon us because you were a high-level Gang Lord!” Alannah said.

“No, I wanted to marry your Mother. She is the love of my life!” Theo said sincerely. Alannah closed her eyes.

“I never loved you Kyle, and I’m glad that she is not yours!” Her Mother’s voice rang through her head.

“Alannah?” Theo said.

“Mum loved you too, her last thoughts were of you. She hid me away with the locket that night, my Da...Kyle killed her. She said my father came from a line of Lions!” Alannah said 

“I am so sorry!” Theo said softly, putting his hand on top of hers.

Alannah opened her eyes “s**t happens and it was a long time ago. Don’t worry, I will renounce any claim I have. If you get your lawyers to draw up the documents...I can sign them ASAP. Then you can go on your way and things can get back to normal!”

“No!” Theo shouted.

“What?” Alannah asked puzzled.

“I said no! I am not going to renounce you!” Theo said shocked. 

This was the last thing Theo wanted to hear! How could he ever give up Emily’s and his Child? Never!

“Why not? I am an illegitimate child and you already have an heir in Grace! If this is about guilt or pity, then don’t. I have a family here and I am good at what I do!” Alannah snapped.

“Now look here! I love Grace, but she...she is a thinker. Nothing wrong with that and all. But you...you are like me! We fight to protect the ones we love. You are a smart, funny, brave, beautiful and incredible fighter. You are everything I could wish for in a daughter! “ Theo rambled and Alannah just looked shocked again.

“Look, please just give me a chance to be the Father you deserve. I know I don’t deserve..”Theo pleaded. 

Alannah threw her arms around Theo and hugged him hard. She had tears in her eyes.

“Theo...I ...just want a Dad...I don’t care about the name or the money. I have been so ...so lonely..since Mum went!” Alannah said and she suddenly broke down. The years of loneliness suddenly consumed her.

“Oh, Alannah!” Theo said as he hugged his daughter for the first time. He let her cry it out and then he cupped her face, drying Alannah’s tears with his thumbs.

“Let me be part of your family!” Theo said and Alannah nodded. Theo smiled and hugged her again. 

“Will...I will still be able to fight?” Alannah asked nervously.

“Not in the fighting matches. As a descendent of a founding father, you are not allowed to be a cursed one!” Theo said softly. 

“So...I am no longer a Nine Tails? What about the Twins, Bruce and the others? I need..” Alannah said.

“Shhh, we will sort it Alannah. You are not by yourself anymore.” Theo said

“I have so many questions..” Alannah said. 

“I bet...but you need to rest. That prick really did a number on you!” Theo growled.

“He is just...a bit confused. We were close at one point, but time has moved on.” Alannah said. 

“He is the Japanese chairman, he wants you to be his wife and Empress,” Theo said.

“Hmm well, that ship has flown. I think, no, I know, I love Kurt. Yes, he can be an overprotective, grumpy sod. But I can’t live without him, even if he can’t marry me. I would ...happy to be his Mistress, as long as he was faithful to me!” Alannah said blushing.

“Alannah, you are an Evans now. The British Syndicate will be overjoyed to have you as their Queen! Not such things should matter, but most of the Syndicate has a broom shoved up their bums!” Theo said.

“Dad!” Alannah chuckled and then stopped. “I am sorry...I mean Theo.”

“No! Please call me Dad, if you want. Shall we let them in, they are listening to every word at the door!” Theo said and Alannah nodded.

“You guys can come in now!” Theo shouted and the door burst open. Grace, Xan, Kurt, James came in with Maya and Tao.

“Alannah! I am so sorry, I didn’t want you to find out that way!” Kurt said as he went over. He had a pained look on his face.

“It is OK, I know things are complicated,” Alannah said softly.

“I want to make one thing clear: you will never be my mistress, you are going to be my wife. That is if you will accept this grumpy sod when the time comes!” Kurt said taking her hand and kissing it.

“You have to get permission from her Dad first!” Theo said.

“And her cousin!” Grace said coming over and hugging her hard.

“Watch the ribs!” Alannah gasped.

“Oh I am so sorry, I just have always wanted a big family and now I have one!” Grace said with a smile.

“I am sorry..” Tao started to say

“I know, I can’t fight anymore,” Alannah said sadly and she yawned.

“There is always a place on the Mad Dogs waiting for you!” Theo said.

“Not a chance! She can stay here and get to know her family!” Grace said pouting. 

“I think you are forgetting she is coming back to the UK with me!” Kurt growled.

“Guys, we can have this conversation later. But right now, Alannah is fast asleep and we should let her rest. It has been quite a day for her. Plus, we need a meeting to discuss a certain problem!” Xan said.

“I sit with her Boss!” James offered and Kurt nodded. James wanted to try and make amends with Alannah for what he had done.

“Sleep well, Princess!” Kurt said as he kissed her on the forehead and walked towards the meeting room. One thing was certain, Akihiko had overstepped the line by trying to take his partner. If he wanted a war, Akihiko was going to get one!
