I had no idea Selena had lied to me when she said Zoey already knew about everything, or else I wouldn't have said anything.
I just wanted to apologize.
Zoey looked so heartbroken and disappointed.
A deep exhale escaped my lips. “I’m so sorry, Zoey.” I tried to reach for her hands again but she pulled them away.
She wasn’t saying anything.
She just stood in silence.
I could tell that she was still trying to process everything. I wasn’t sure if I even would get a chance to talk to her anymore.
I turned to Selena who was still crying. “Please, can you give us a moment?” I pleaded calmly.
She nodded and left immediately.
It seemed like she was looking for an opportunity to leave the awkward moment.
After she left, I shifted my gaze to Zoey.
