I was lost in my thoughts throughout the entire mating ball.
Wendy was enthusiastic about everything. She even spent the last few minutes dancing to the soft music that pulsed through the ballroom.
I tried my best to stay focused, but my mind kept wandering over to Zoey and Sean.
It had been a week since she left.
For someone who didn’t really want Zoey as his mate at first, her absence affected me so much. I didn’t know if it was because she was under another man’s roof or because I felt guilty. After all, I was about to punish her for a crime that she didn’t commit.
