"You ready to go?" Cooper asks me after we have been here for a couple of hours. I nod. "I will carry you back to my room," he tells me. I hop on his back, and he gives me a piggyback ride back to Dark Moon, in the dark, through the forest like we used to do as kids. C.J. follows and jumps around behind us. He has come to Dark Moon plenty of times, but never inside.
We arrive at the gates. "Put me down," I tell him. "No. I'm sure your feet hurt from walking around in high heels all day. Plus, I love carrying you around. My wolf always wants you close," he says. These feelings bubble up inside of me. He is so thoughtful, and it confuses me even more. The man at the gate greets us both with a huge smile. "Alpha, Miss Thomas," he bows. "Hello," I say as he carries me through.
