Aeson and I watched the sun go down behind the mountains of the Blood Pearl Pack Reserve. The sky exploded with beautiful shades of pink, red, and orange. Beams of yellow streaked against the sky. Rays of the warm purple weave themselves beautifully between the colors, all creating a dramatic moment. The sun had been intense today, which made the sunset that much more beautiful. Though it was a sight to see, it was no distraction of what was to come. The idea that in just a moment, we would be stripped of our power, of our identity, sat in front of my mind.
