Now to see about Nancy, poor thing. She had really gone through hell. Susan made her way toward the emergency room, frightful thoughts about the poor woman-child's ordeal spurring her to walk more quickly. She found Nancy smiling brightly, drinking coffee with a young intern who was blushing furiously at something Nancy had said, and obviously looking for a way to escape Nancy. He saw his opportunity with Susan's entry, and after abrupt good-byes, darted out into the hall. “Are you—? Well, I guess that's a silly question,” Susan looked severely at the glowing teen.
