Mia stepped out of the bathroom, her skin damp, steam clinging faintly to her body. A small white towel was wrapped around her chest, barely reaching her upper thighs. The hospital air was cold against her wet skin, raising goosebumps across her arms. Her gaze landed on Christian. He was seated where she’d left him, head bent slightly, tapping on his phone. His face looked calm, focused, as if he were chatting with someone, perhaps sending updates or giving orders.
