Chapter 3: The Stranger Encounter

635 Words
Sophia had been working as a personal assistant to Ethan Thompson, the billionaire businessman, for a few weeks now. She had been hired through a recruitment agency, and Ethan had been her boss since day one. At first, Sophia found Ethan to be a rude and demanding boss. He would often yell at her for small mistakes and make unreasonable demands. But despite his behaviour, Sophia had tried her best to please him and do her job to the best of her ability. As the days went by, Sophia began to notice something strange about Ethan. His scent was familiar, but she couldn't quite place it. She had smelled it before, but she couldn't remember where or when. One day, as she was working at her desk, Ethan came storming out of his office, yelling at her for a mistake she had made. Sophia felt her heart racing as she tried to apologize and explain herself. But as Ethan stood over her, yelling and waving his arms, Sophia caught a whiff of his scent again. This time, it was stronger, and she felt a sudden jolt of recognition. Where had she smelled that scent before? Sophia's mind was racing as she tried to remember. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't quite place it. Ethan, on the other hand, knew exactly where he had met Sophia before. He had been searching for her everywhere, but he couldn't find her. He had been engaged to another woman, but he didn't love her. He was still in love with Sophia, but he didn't know how to find her. Now, fate had brought them together again, but they didn't recognize each other. Ethan had been trying to keep his distance from Sophia, but it was getting harder and harder. He couldn't stop thinking about her, and he couldn't stop wondering if she would ever remember him. As the days went by, Sophia continued to work for Ethan, trying her best to please him and do her job to the best of her ability. But she couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something familiar about Ethan, something that she couldn't quite place. One day, as she was working late, Ethan came out of his office and stood over at her desk. "You're working late again," he said, his voice softer than usual. Sophia looked up at him, feeling a sudden jolt of recognition. "Yes, I am," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. Ethan looked at her for a long moment, his eyes searching hers. "You know, I've been thinking," he said finally. "Maybe we should work together more closely. Maybe we should...get to know each other better." Sophia felt a sudden surge of excitement. What was Ethan suggesting? And why was he looking at her like that? But before she could say anything, Ethan turned and walked away, leaving Sophia feeling confused and bewildered. As she packed up her things and left the office, Sophia couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something more to Ethan's suggestion. Something that she couldn't quite put her finger on. But she was determined to find out. She was determined to uncover the truth about Ethan and their past. And she was determined to make him pay for what he had done to her. Little did she know, Ethan was thinking the same thing. He was thinking about how he could make Sophia fall in love with him again, how he could make her forgive him for what he had done. And as they both went their separate ways, they couldn't help but wonder what the future held for them. Would they be able to rekindle their past love? Or would they be forever stuck in the past, unable to move on? Only time would tell.
