Chapter 75: A New Equilibrium
Melissa’s POV
I was encircled by a thick, never-ending darkness. I briefly believed that I was gone, lost in the Heart's collapsing energy for all time. But then, like sunlight piercing a storm, warmth swept through me.
I opened my eyes.
The stronghold was no longer where I was. I was in a huge area with a lot of golden light flowing about me. The air pulsated with power and shimmered. The Heart, fractured and unsteady, floated at the heart of it all.
A quiet voice reverberated all around me. "Melissa, child of the moon, bearer of fate."
