Harmony's Pov
Lucy hugged her stuffed rabbit and said in that ridiculously cute voice, “Brother told me to call him daddy.”
I raised my eyebrows. “Really?”
Lan sat on the edge of the couch, arms crossed, staring off like a little general sulking in silence.
I crouched beside him and gently touched his arm. “Still mad at me, huh?”
He pouted and didn’t look at me.
I laughed and ruffled his hair. “Alright, Mom admits it. I was wrong to scold you the other day.”
Lan finally turned his head and puffed out his chest. “It was me who stepped in when that big dog chased us. Not Lucy.”
“I know,” I said, smiling. “You’re brave. And from now on, I won’t take sides. You and Lucy are both my treasures.”
His lips curled up a little. “I’ll become strong. Strong enough that nobody will ever scare you or her again.”
I pulled both of them into my arms, my voice soft. “You’re both the best thing that ever happened to me.”

No One's Pov.
Back at the Jefferson villa, Abel stood by the window, staring out with a hard look in his eyes.
“Find out who she is,” he said coldly.
Drake, his older brother, leaned back on the couch, smirking. “You mean the woman with those two kids?”
Abel’s jaw tightened.
Drake laughed. “You’ve been single for years, Abel. Now suddenly—you’re a dad? That’s a surprise.”
Abel gave him a cold glare. “Stop joking.”
Drake held up his hands. “I’m serious. That boy—he looks like you. You sure you never…”
“No,” Abel cut him off. “I don’t know her. I’ve never seen her before.”
Drake shrugged. “Maybe fate’s messing with you.”
Abel didn’t say anything. But his fists clenched.
