CHAPTER 16 I made good time back to Inverness, abandoning my car on a side street and walking the rest of the way to the railway station, catching the overnight sleeper back to London. I found that, for the first time in months, I slept soundly rocked by the motion and background thrum of the train and the satisfying sense of achievement; of a job well done. It would be interesting to see how long it took for Lily to be missed. It being the Centre’s break time they wouldn’t miss her until the students returned and Mrs Munroe wasn’t expecting her home as she knew she was planning the hike.
