Chapter 14 I switched on the local radio station and turned up the volume to k.d. lang’s Constant Craving until I could scarcely hear myself scream. The sky opened up and brooding rains pounded my windshield. I increased the wiper speed, circled the block and then turned back onto Ospika. I turned left on King Drive and headed home. I didn’t care whether passers-by caught a glimpse of the chaos inside my cab. I cried hard and loud while the pain in my head threatened migraine proportions. I let it all out. I cried for my lost childhood, for my inability to find peace within myself, for my broken parents and finally for failing my daughter. I promised nothing bad would ever happen to her.
