The Hunt

Kyle stood on one of the trails cursing under his breath as the EMT's hauled off a man who had been attacked by the rogue wolf.  The man was pronounced DOA by the ambulance, and rightly so since his throat had been ripped apart by wolf fangs. He turned to see his staff looking worriedly around them.  "Shut down the trails permanently," he ordered, "Until this wolf is found we can't have any of our guests walking along the trails." His staff immediately spread out. Going in different directions. Some back to the hotel while others when to get the tape that would be stretched across all trail openings. Hopefully, keeping anymore guests from taking a walk along the trails. As the police investigated this attack, and some local conservation officers did as well. Kyle dialed Max's cell. "Yo," Max's usual answer greeted him. "He killed this time," Kyle stated, as he walked away from the scene, "We've locked down all the trails this time permanently until we can find this wolf. Is Celine doing alright." "Yeah, she's snuggled up with me on the couch watching horror movies," Max replied, "Did you need me there?"  "Tonight, when the police have left," Kyle said quietly, "We're going hunting!" Max fell silent, then slowly spoke "I'll be there." ***** Celine looked up at Max a frown on her face. She had heard everything that was said, thanks to her new super hearing ability.  "You guys are going hunting?" she said softly. "Yeah babe, this rogue just killed someone. We can't leave him to run around our territory," Max replied, as he gently stroked her hair with his large palm. "You will be careful won't you?" she asked, sitting up, "If this was the same wolf that attacked me. It means business." "We'll be fine, the whole pack will be joining in this time," replied Max, leaning forward and kissing Celine on the forehead, "Except you and a few females will be remaining here. We have pups to protect." Celine bit her lip, she would rather go and help them try to get the wolf that had attacked her. To think it had killed someone. It would have killed her too if she hadn't been able to protect herself. "Celine. You can't come with us. You mean to much to us to lose you," warned Max, "If Kyle even so much as sees you out there he'll lose it." Huffing out a breath Celine nodded, "I'll stay here. I'm still learning anyways," she remarked, "I did come here to relax after all. Plus, I'm not fully healed yet." Max kissed her forehead, "Good Girl. Now. What's next on our to watch list?" Celine turned her attention the movies piled up and selected the next one she wanted to watch. Letting Max get up to change them out. She felt a chill run down her spine as she thought about the fact that she could have been the one dead right now. When Max returned to the couch, she curled up against him. Needing the feel of something to remind her that she was alive and well. **** Max arrived just on time, Kyle was giving his pack the news about the rogue and assigning parts of the woods where teams would look to see if they could find the rogue wolf. It bothered Kyle and Max that so far the wolf had been able to outsmart them. Either it led them in circles or made them think he had moved on and then discovered he/she had doubled back and ghosted them. Kyle, Max and a young wolf named Nick shifted in the woods. Taking off on silent paws through the woods, going to where the last location where the rogue had been and picking up his scent before moving off. The pack would take other trails to see where they could find the rogue's scent. Kyle's main goal was to find common, recent along with old scents to track the wolf. Hoping that when they marked where the wolf had gone, is or recently was on a map that they could find a clue as to where the wolf was staying. The three wolves veered left, right and then left again. Sniffing trees, the leaves and even bushes that tickled their noses to follow the trail left by the rogue wolf. As the night wore one the wolves worked tirelessly. By early morning they were gathered in the conference room surrounding a map and detailing what they found. "This is like a needle in a haystack," muttered Max as he stared at the various lines in various colors on the map.  "So far this seems to be a common crosspoint," Kyle said, pointing to one area on the map where all scent trails seemed to converge. "There's nothing in that area though. No abandoned, or recent dens. No over grown bushes or hollows," declared one of the other wolves.  Kyle looked to Max who shrugged, "Let's go check it out!" Max said. Everyone filed from the room and took to the trails in human form. Filed into a single line they made their way to where the most common place the wolf landed up at. A howl erupted from the woods, and the group halted their advance. The howl was none of their pack. Everyone shifted into their wolves. They spread out into a protective formation keeping Kyle in the center as they moved. A woman's scream was all it took to set the wolves into a running motion. They burst from the dense undergrowth into the clearing to see that Celine was clinging for dear life to a tree while a large dark coated wolf jumped and snapped his massive jaw trying to get at her.  Max broke formation snarling as he charge the wolf. Bowling right into the beast with fangs wide and ready. Kyle shifted into human form and rushed for the tree with three pack members following. "Celine," Kyle shouted, "Come down. It's okay I got you." Celine looked between Kyle, the wolf and Max fighting. Her eyes wide with fear. "He tried to attack me," she rasped as she slowly descended the tree. "It's okay love, its okay," reassured Kyle embracing her with his arms. Turning her so she wouldn't see what was happing in the clearing. Two more pack members joined the fight, two younger fighters rushed at the rogue nipping at it's heels and circling him. The way they worked kept his mind on them, trying to keep them from getting a hold on his legs or his throat.  Max waited, snarling as he watched the two younger wolves work at the wolf. Wearing him down, working the wolf until he made a fatal mistake that Max rushed for. Launching over the two younger wolves and clamping down tightly onto the wolves neck. With a violent shake of his head Max snapped the spine of the rogue wolf. It let out a yelp then slumped to the ground. He gave it one last vicious shake before dropping the dead wolf on the ground and shifting into his human form. He walked over to Kyle and Celine. Wrapping his arms around them both. "You okay Celine?" he asked softly.  "Yes," replied Celine.  "Good thing," Max said with relief, "Let's get you back home. The pack will take care of the dead wolf." Celine didn't argue as she walked with both men out of the woods. Someone met them half way with a bag full of clothing and the two men quickly donned the fabric. "What were you doing out there in the woods?" Kyle demanded the moment they entered his home, "You knew damn well that wolf was still out there." Celine placed her hands on her hips, a scowl on her pretty face.  "If you must know. I was curious to see if your property was connected to the resorts," she stated, "I am not some little five year old who doesn't know anything about wilderness survival. Dad!"  Kyle stepped forward his face turning molten, he grasped her shoulders and leaned forward his voice dropping on octave or two as he met her hazel gaze with his own blue ones. "You could have been killed," he growled, gently shaking her, "Do you realize that? That wolf has gone mad with blood lust. It would have finished the job it had started."  Celine felt her body shiver at that low voice, not because of fear from what Kyle had just said but because Kyle's voice was just that darn sexy in that baritone. She felt moisture pool low in her nether regions and a warmth spread through her body. She recalled how he had looked striding naked towards her in the clearing. Everything had been on display there in that moment. He had an impressive package.  She licked her lips, and her breathing went from slow to quick in seconds. A low growl from behind her had her looking over her shoulder to see Max's eyes were no longer their usual color but golden. She felt the heat rise, the scent of the two men engulfed her. Kyle's eyes flicked to golden from their true color. He leaned in close and took a deep breath. Celine didn't hesitate, she leaned forward and kissed him. Her eyes closing as hers met soft pliable lips. Kyle held still for a nano second before he pulled her tight into his embrace and deepened the kiss to a rough, tongue tangling inferno. Max approached, grasped Celine and turned her to face him. His head coming down to meet her lips with his own. His kiss was dominating, not leaving her a moment to breath.  "You smell good babe," he murmured, "Like lilac's and honey."  "Like a goddess," purred Kyle, from behind her as he pressed in real close so she could feel the evidence of his arousal against her backside. "I..." Celine started to say but Max didn't even give her a moment to get out the words she wanted to say. He kissed her again, and Kyle's hands began to explore her body setting her skin on fire where he touched. She was trapped between them and didn't even care that she had two men pawing at her body. Demanding she give into them. She would.  As if knowing that she was a putty in their hands. Kyle barked "Upstairs" and soon they were fumbling their way upstairs. Both men vying for her mouth. Hungry for her kiss, hands groping and pawing at her breasts, and between her thighs. Igniting her into a frenzy of lust. They fell upon Kyle's large king sized bed moans, and sighs slipping out as they slowly undressed each other. Tossing clothes every which way so that they could be skin to skin.  Celine wasn't sure why but she wanted both men to make her crazy. To spin her out of control and demand things of her she had never thought were possible.
