CHAPTER FIVE: UNDERCOVER DETECTIVES

Kish and Ola were so determined to get to the bottom of the matter. They planned to investigate their friend's killer but not involving the police but only with the direction of the Holy Spirit as proposed by Ola. "It was revealed to me that someone close to our friend killed her, you and I know Amirat, apart from us, she has nobody except the lady she hired at her shop, her late mother and her two domestic staffs, Lara and Bello. You and I also know that she maltreats them a lot, so they are our first suspects. We would go to her house tomorrow to question them about this matter", Ola concluded. Kish sighed heavily and said, "No problem Ola, I cannot wait to get to the bottom of this matter".

Ola and Kish got to Amirat's house as early as eight in the morning and exchanged pleasantries with Bello the gateman. "When are you planning to go back home", Ola curiously asked after the greetings. "I will go new year ma, because the k********g ma", Bello responded with his broken English. "Alright, no problem, it is just few weeks to the new year, safe journey ", Ola said as the two friends walked inside. Bello looked at them with evil in his eyes and knew this is trouble for them.

Upon entering the house, they met Ola sitted in the living room holding Amirat's frame and tears running down her eyes. Ola and Kish were startled and didn't even know when tears started dropping from their eyes. Lara then looked up and saw them crying, she wiped her tears and greeted them. After exchanging pleasantries, she offered them juice but something in Ola told her not to take the drink Ola told Kish about the revelation and she also divided the drink.

Lara started expressing her disappointment on the death of her boss. "My madam was my everything, she toonk us as her family not minding our background. She clothed us, fed us, welcomed us into her home, took us as her siblings. It is so painful that she is gone and it is so difficult to say she is gone forever. Her death came as a shock to me, I wish God took me instead of her...", Lara hadn't finished talking when she was cut short by Kish. "Aunty Lara, stop saying that, God has a reason for everything, though in our eyes God did us wickedness, but we believe she is in a better place free from pains, torments, disasters and suffering. It is only bad that she doesn't have any offspring who would inherit all she has worked hard for all her life. We pray that God should rest her soul", Kish said and Ola and Lara chorused Amen.

Ola knew deep down that something about Lara was fake. She then planned what to do secretly while Lara was annoyed as the two friends did not take the already poisoned drink.
