CHAPTER THREE: MISTAKE COSTS LIVES

Days rolled into weeks, weeks rolled into months, Amirat, Ola and Kish continued their luxurious lifestyles. Ola and Kish's lifestyle couldn't be compared to that of Amirat, the difference was so glaring and Amirat envied her friends so much.

In order to flaunt her riches the more and try to make everyone think she is the biggest. Amirat decided to organize a party, as she claimed to be celebrating God's Benevolence and Provision upon her life. "By throwing a big party, shouted Kish. "Hope there is no problem Kish, can't I appreciate my creator again, Amirat replied angrily. "Alright girls, enough of the shouting, let us talk about another thing. I would like to invite you all to this program taking place in my church this Saturday. It is an empowerment programme specially designed for youths between the ages of....", Ola had not finished speaking when she was cut short by Amirat who said, "Please Ola, spare me of those boring church talks, instead let us focus on organizing my party".

"Alright, that is not a problem. But in case you change your mind, am right here", Ola said. Amirat talked for long hours about this party which she has borrowed 30 million Naira from Gbenga, her wealthy chief's son.

Truly, her party was the talk of the town and plenty young girls took her as their role model due to her very expensive outfits and the large amount of money she spent on her party. Two weeks after, Gbenga began to call her and sent text messages to her to repay him the money she borrowed from him. At this point Amirat knew trouble was looming.

It was also during this time Daniel proposed to Kish and Ola had already established her own PR firm and was planning on building a church. Due to Amirat's pride and so as not to lose her steeze, she refused to ask her friends for money to pay the loan she borrowed. She sold her GLE 63 coupe and repaid Gbenga who was already willing to call her out on social media to embarrass her.

Amirat refused to congratulate Kish and Ola on their recently bagged achievement and began to exclude herself from their friendship. It was also at this crucial time, she got pregnant and as usual did not know the father. She became down and devastated for weeks. She could not eat, sleep, drink or go out. She remained indoors brooding over her situation.

She made up her mind and decided to go for an abortion not minding the later consequences. She aborted her unborn child and unfortunately for her, she lost her womb and had serious health issues. She already abandoned her friends and warned them to never come close to her anymore. Her condition worsened day-by-day, she had no one to run to except her domestic staffs whom she once treated like trash.

Bello and Lara never left her side and gave her enough medical care and support with the help of funds raised by the fashion designer she put in charge of her business.

On this fateful day, Lara called her boss and advised her to eat so she could use her drugs." How could I ever repay you and Bello for what you are doing to me, despite the way I have treated you. I have been nothing but mean to you my staffs, I hope you find a place in your heart to forgive me", cried Amirat to Lara.

"Madam let us just be grateful to God. I thank God for everything he has done for me, most especially for bringing you into my life. Madam if only you know that you are a big blessing to my life. Do you remember when you saved my life and gave me two million Naira, th money I used to carry out an operation for my son, three years after I met you", Lara said almost crying.

Amirat was still trying to recollect when she gave Lara that amount until Lara noticed something. Amirat was not breathing well, she started coughing out blood. Before Lara could stand up to cry for help, Amirat gave up the ghost. She was rushed to the hospital but was tagged BID (Brought In Dead). The news got to Amirat's mother and she also out of shock gave up the ghost. Many wept and wailed for mother and daughter who died on the same day.

Ola and Kish could not comprehend the message, they wept bitterly and wished they all reconciled before she died.
