Behind The MasksMasquerading has a long history in crime fiction. From Edgar Allan Poe’s characters in “The Murders in the Rue Morgue” to Shadow, authors have used masks with their fictional characters to conceal identities, pretend they are someone else, or create a sense of creeping fear in the audience. But masks come with all shapes and sizes and the feeling they convey depends on their origin and context. So we asked three notable European photographers to offer their take on the subject of “Mysterious Masked Character”. The result is a stunning mini-collection of fine art photography which takes any viewer to another world.
