Chapter 24 In the darkness between dream islands, I take a couple of deep breaths and gather my courage. Then I head back to Midnight Castle again. This time, I’m heading to the king’s chambers. Unfortunately, it’s not as far away from Malyn as I’d like, but neither is the far side of the moon. This part of the castle is dominated by everything war. Instead of tapestries, the walls are decorated in armor and weapons. The hallway hasn’t been scrubbed in a long time, by the look of the soot marks staining the walls. Clearly the Dark King doesn’t care much for having a bright and clean castle. As I near the king’s chambers, memories come flooding back.
