Chapter 36 There are dark shapes lying on the floor and stairs around Ketter as he takes another step toward me. They’re so still that it’s easy to mistake them for shadows. But these shadows are in the shapes of wolves. Wolves lying as still as stones in all sorts of unnatural angles. I take another step back. Can I make it out of this nightmare before Ketter rips out my throat? “What happened?” My mouth is so dry that I’m surprised I can get the words out.
