The two guards walk into the queen’s chambers behind Sentry. It suddenly looks like he is a prisoner and they are his guards.
The queen’s chambers look the same in the Waking as they do in the Dreaming. The only difference is the light. I’m used to seeing it with a gray tinge, almost as if the colors had leached out. Here, though, the colors are as vivid as they are in my own tower.
The new queen sits at her vanity as though it is her throne. She’s facing us, though. I’ve gotten so used to seeing her as Nightmare Malyn that it’s strange to see her perfect features.
Behind her, the vanity still has its mirrors attached to it, unlike its counterpart in the Dreaming. It reflects the room—the window with the darkening sky, Sentry looking tall and handsome, the two guards in thei
