Chapter 34 I run into my tower. My knees are shaky, I’m drenched in sweat and I feel gutted. The girl on the bed sleeps peacefully as though mocking me. Her breath is coming a little faster than usual and she has beads of sweat on her brow, but otherwise looks normal. “Do something!” I want to kick the girl on the bed. “Wake up! Don’t just lie there, being useless.” I try to rattle the bed but my hands just pass right through it. I try to yell something more, but what comes out is a broken sob.
