Chapter Five: Birthday Surprise

2385 Words
Wisterias POV 17 years old The past day and a half went by in a blur of my 'unofficial Luna training,' I haven't seen the brothers since we left the training field the other day. Today is the day before my birthday, and no one can or will tell me where the brothers are. Not to mention I was just told that Luna Stacey has a birthday party planned for me tonight at eight o'clock. I have two hours before the party starts, and I just want to see my mates. When I heard a knock on the door, I yelled for them to come in as I looked through my closet for something to wear to the party. Luna Stacey said it was only for the young kids and would be more like a rager; tomorrow night would be the ball. I turned around to see who had come in and screamed in shock and excitement as I barreled into him, knocking him over. He erupted into laughter and hugged me tightly. "Girl, you have a lot of explaining to do." He said as we stood up, and I couldn't help but hug him again. "I know, Eliot, it's a long story," I said, pulling away. "I woke up, and you were gone. You vanished into thin air, and then my family and I got an invite to your birthday. The invitation said, 'You are invited to Spring Moon Pack to celebrate the 18th birthday of the FUTURE LUNA, Wisteria Rose McAntrie.' Girl, what has happened in the last three years?" "I'll tell you if you help me prepare for the party tonight," I said, throwing a dress at him. "Deal," He said, laughing as I pulled him into the closet. —----- "Woooowww, I can't believe you and my parents kept everything from us. I thought you trusted me and I was your best friend; you could have told me!" Eliot said sadly once I finished telling him the whole story as we did our makeup. "I do trust you. It was just safer to keep you in the dark… The men after me were the best of the best, and truth be told, I shouldn't have stayed with your family. I should have left the second I healed. If I had, your family would have been safe. And Your father would still be alive…." I said, trying to make him understand why I did what I did. "Dad's death wasn't your fault! Never say that again! He died fighting for what he believed in. This was your fathers doing, not yours. I'm glad you trusted me with this. But did one of the Alpha Brothers really do that to your sperm donor to get you home?" He asked while we finished our makeup. "Yeah, he did," I said, blushing. "Girl, you have it bad!" Eliot said, laughing. "Shut up! It's more than that…." I said shyly, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. "Spill!" He said as we started getting dressed. "So the Alpha Brothers are eighteen already, and being alphas, they can feel the mate bond before their mate is of age," I said slowly. "Wait. Your telling me one of the Alpha Brothers is your mate?" He said excitedly. "They all are," I said confidently. "OOOOH, GIRL! When They welcomed my family to the pack today, I couldn't help but drool! I was hoping one of them where gay!" He said, laughing and making me laugh as well. "Well, I can say for sure they aren't. Not that we've had s*x, but they are very sexually driven toward me. But wait, they welcomed you here and didn't even bother to stop by and see me?" I said madly. "I've been trying to find them for the past two days!" "Well, I can tell you it was hard for them to find my family. But I know it was a surprise, and I think they have another one for you tonight. With you being able to read minds, they might be keeping their distance, so it stays a surprise." He said understandingly. "I told them I wouldn't read their minds anymore, though," I said defeatedly. "Stop! You are a goddess, and you need to stop feeling sorry for yourself. They obviously love you if they took the time out to find us. Now look at yourself," He said sternly. As I turned to look in the mirror, I was stunned. I looked like a beautiful badass in my black see-through sparkly mesh top with a skin-tight black cargo skirt that came to mid-thigh and my ripped tights and black combat boots—paired with my onyx black curls and mysteriously colored eyes that had dark eyeshadow and eyeliner with my ruby-red painted lips. I looked ready to tick some ass and break some hearts. "You're a vision," Eliot said, holding onto my shoulders from behind me. "This reminds me of when you took me to that gay bar for drag night," I said, laughing. "What was the name of that guy you hooked up with? Halland or Holdan?" "Haildon, and we agreed never to speak of that again!" He said with a pout. "Okay, let's go. I'm already an hour late for my own party!" I said, laughing. "Please, queen, if you're not an hour late or more, you didn't take long enough to do your makeup and hair." He said as I dragged him out of the door. —----- When we walked through the doors of the pack event room at nine o'clock, strobe lights danced to the beat of the raging music with people dancing and drinking. When a spotlight landed on me, everyone cheered as their eyes landed on me, and I strutted through the middle of the room to the beat of the music with Eliot beside me. We stopped when someone came up and put a purple birthday girl sash and tiara on me. When I looked up, it was Nadia, and she took my hands and guided me to the stage. When we got on the stage, the music and lights stopped, and there was a spotlight on Nadia and me. "Welcome, everyone, and thank you for coming to celebrate our future Lunas birthday, Wisteria Rose McAntrie! And now the pack has made a video to show how much you have impacted our lives in such a short time. Please enjoy." When I turned to the screen, pictures of me from the past few days were playing on the screen to the song 'Count on me' by Bruno Mars. All the photos were of me helping the patrols, on the training field, leading training, getting to know some of the pack members at the school bakesale, stopping by the daycare and playing with the pups, setting up meetings, and hanging out with the Whitmore siblings. When the slideshow ended, a video of the siblings popped up. "Hi, I'm Nadia Whitmore, and these are my brothers, Tylor and Axel. We want to talk about the only person in the world that never judged our mother or us. When we told Wisteria about our mother's past with our fathers, she didn't shame her or us. She said it's okay to fall in and out of love, especially when you have lost your mate. She said, "Finding your mate is the best thing to happen to a wolf. But if you lose them, you lose a part of yourself; you will never be whole again. But you can still love another even if they are not your destined mate. I do not doubt that, at the time, your mother loved each of your fathers. But love is fragile, and it is hard to fight for it when the relationship isn't supported." She didn't judge, and she listened to our mother and us. She embraced our diverse family with open arms." Nadia said on the video. "Hi, I'm Tylor Whitmore. When I first met Wisteria, I knew she was different. She had this way about her that made everything seem alive and okay. When I saw her get the Alpha Brothers to playfully chase her around on the training field, I knew she was special. I've been friends with Jaxon, Daren, Ryker, and Xaiden for seven years now, and that was the first time I saw them genuinely smile. It's no secret that they had been closed off to the pack in the past. But the day Wisteria entered this pack, a light lit up in the Alpha Brothers and everyone she came into contact with. I couldn't stop smiling the first time she talked to me. All I know is that she will be a great Luna, and I will defend her with my life." Tylor said on the video, and I started crying. "My name is Axel. As most of you know, I'm not a man of many words, so I'll keep it short. Wisteria is the bravest person I know. She has endured things no one should. But she persevered and never regretted her decisions. She is everything I could want in a Luna, and I know she will do an excellent job. And for that reason, I vow to respect and protect my one and only Luna always and forever," Axel said, bowing his head on camera. A few more pack members had videos playing, and they talked about how they felt when they met me for the first time. By the end, I was laughing and crying tears of joy, thanking the goddess I wore waterproof makeup. When I whipped my tears, the Whitmore sibling and Eliot hugged me and gestured for me to say something. "Thank you, everyone, for doing this for me and coming tonight. Truth be told, I wasn't expecting anything for my birthday. But I got the best gift I could ask for… A home, somewhere I belong. I never knew I could settle down, make amazing friends, find my mates, and be in a loving pack such as this one. I feel safe for once in my life, and I would like to thank you all for that. I might not get everything right the first time, but I always promise to put the pack first and do my best as your future Luna." I said, crying as they all bowed. "Enough of that. Let's get this party started and have fun!" I continued excitedly, and the crowd roared and went back to dancing. "Who did all of this?" I asked the Whitmore siblings and Eliot. "The Alpha Brothers have had a busy few days," Nadia said with a wink. "Then where are they?" I asked sadly. "Turn around," The siblings said, nodding behind me. I whipped my head around and saw all four brothers standing behind me in different colored shirts and dress slacks. Jaxon donned a dark purple button-down, Daren had on a Black button-down, Ryker wore a dark red button-down, and Xaiden wore a dark green button-down, and all of them had matching black slacks on. I ran down the stage's stairs and jumped into the first arms I could. "I've missed you so much never do that again," I said as I wrapped myself around Xaiden, burrowing my face in his neck and breathing in his scent. "It was so hard, but we wanted everything to stay a surprise. So, we couldn't risk anything. I'm sorry little Flower," He said, wrapping his arms around me and breathing in my scent. I looked up, grabbed his face, and kissed him passionately. When I felt Daren kissing my neck from behind, I broke the kiss and leaned into both their touches, snaking a hand behind both their heads. "Daren," His name left my lips in a soft whisper as he kissed me passionately. "We missed you so much," He said in a hungry voice. "I missed you too. Thank you for the surprise. Even though it was hard, it was worth it." I said, reaching out to Jaxon and Ryker, who each took a side of me. "Let's dance and have fun before your first shift," Jaxon said with a cheeky grin. "I want you to meet someone, though officially," I said, detangling myself from them and walking over to Eliot, linking our arms together. "This is my best friend, Eliot. He is part of the family I lived with for five years, and he told me the four of you tracked them down to get them here." "We all thought of it, but Daren did the tracking. He looked through your files on them, keeping track of how they were doing. You made it fairly easy." Xaiden said, laughing. "He what?!" I said, wide-eyed and on the verge of a freakout. I marched over to Daren, pulled him over to a secluded place, and pinned him to the wall. "What else did you see?! What made you think that was okay? I have private stuff in those files! Stuff I wasn't ready to share yet! You invaded my privacy! Only Eliot and his mom know what happened," I said, almost in a cry. "I didn't read any of it. I only took the file on Eliot's family. I would never go through your personal files. And I didn't tell anyone else about the other files. I would never betray you like that, I promise." He said, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me closer to him. "I'm just not ready to talk about it yet," I said, hugging him. "And you don't have to. Unless you are ready, you don't have to tell us anything. But we want you to know you can tell us anything when you're ready." He said, kissing my head. "Thank you," I said, kissing him. "Now let's go have fun. We only have an hour until midnight, and after your shift, theirs another surprise," He said knowingly. After that, I danced with all four brothers, Eliot, Nadia, Tylor, and Axel. Until I felt a sharp pain and fell to the ground, everyone surrounded me in worry. "Auurgh, I'm shifting!" I yelled out in pain, and Jaxon picked me up and started running to the forest with Eliot, the Whitmore siblings, and the other three brothers following us.
