Wisteria was taking longer than I thought she would, and I was getting worried. But I felt at ease knowing we would hear it if anything happened.
When my brothers and I heard rustling, we looked at our mate holding a frightened child. Jaxon was the first by her side, taking the child in his arms and bringing her to the blanket.
"What happened?!" I asked, holding Wisteria at arm's length, examining her for injuries as Daren and Ryker did the same.
"I'm fine, I promise," she said, cupping my face with her hand. "But this girl's entire coven was whipped out apparently just to get to her and her sisters. She told me before I brought her here. She has been wandering around for days and stumbled into pack lands. I found her just after she crossed the border. I didn't notice we were that close to it," she said with concern for the little girl as she walked over to the blanket to sit next to the girl and Jaxon.
"Wait, how many sisters does she have? Did she give you her name?" Daren asked with worry lacing his dreadful voice.
"I don't know, and I didn't want to bombard her with questions while she was scared. But her name is Stella," Wisteria said as she stroked the little girl's ratty hair.
"f**k!" Daren Exclaimed, running his hands through his hair the second he heard Stella's name.
"It's the coven that was under our protection. The reason they needed protection was to protect Stella and her three sisters. They are Quadruplets like us, and for a witch to give birth
to four identical children is a miracle. They are said to hold extreme power. We sent warriors there to protect them, but since this was not reported to our father or us, we must assume they were killed along with the coven or are being held, prisoner. We must also assume that the attackers know where the worriers came from, so we must strengthen our defenses and prepare for an attack." Jaxon said, holding Stella close to his chest as a single tear fell from his eye.
I knew why Jaxon was acting this way. Our best friend volunteered to lead this mission and was sent out by our father. Knowing that any of our pack members on this mission could be dead or tortured was hard enough on a future alpha. But the fact that our future beta was one of them was hard to swallow. We all hung our heads down in mourning for our best friend.
I looked up when I heard Wisteria sniffle. Looking into her eyes, I saw sadness for our pack members and the slaughtered witches. But it was gone in an instant as her face turned stone cold. I had never seen her like this before, and It scared me. I know what she can do when happy and scared, but this is something else. She was enraged and vengeful. I went to step forward, and she held her hand up to warn me away.
"Don't. I already have a hard time controlling my magic right now, and If any of you touch me, I will not be able to focus on controlling it." She said coldly.
Eliot came from the tree line and started moving towards us slowly with his hands held cautiously in front of him. When our eyes met, he shook his head as I tried to take another step closer to my mate. I froze when I felt it. The air around Wisteria was ice cold, and she was shaking.
"Everyone needs to back away slowly. Nothing will be able to calm her down; if she loses it, you are not safe. Now go back to the pack house and send all the trained witches you have here." Eliot said as he cautiously moved between Wisteria and the five of us.
"What will happen if she doesn't calm down?" Ryker whispered cautiously.
"That is not for me to say. She can tell you when she is ready. I am only here to save you. Now do as I said." He growled out lowly. I didn't like him ordering us, especially regarding our mate, but I understood he was trying to keep everyone safe.
Daren nodded at me, and we all started to back away. Once out of range, we rushed toward the pack house with Stella in Jaxon's arms.
"Every trained witch needs to get to the flower grove near the swimming hole right now! Our friend Eliot will explain what is going on and what needs to be done! Everyone else in the bunker right now! No questions, move!" Daren bellowed aloud and over mind link with an alpha command so no one would miss the order.
Everyone moved frantically as the witches headed out, and everyone else ran to the bunker. When I looked to the left, I saw our parents and Mr. Apollo running up to us. Mr. Apollo took one look at Stella and grabbed her from Jaxon. Mr. Apollo is the person we send out to the coven to do welfare checks and bring supplies, and he probably knows Stella and her sisters very well.
"What happened?" Our parents and Mr. Apollo asked simultaneously.
"We were waiting on Wisteria to use the bathroom by the flower field, but when she came back, she had Stella in her arms. When we asked what happened, she told us Stella said that someone had slaughtered the coven and taken the other three sisters. When we explained that the coven was under our protection and what we needed to do, she started crying, and then it was like all emotion drained from her. She got this icy look on her face, and when I went towards her, she told me to stay away and that she wasn't in control of her magic." I said frantically, running my hands through my hair.
"Eliot instructed us to leave and get all the trained witches to the field," Ryker added.
"Eliot's family reported to me that when Wisteria gets like this, it usually has something to do with her brother. Who attacked the coven?" Mr. Apollo said with worry lacing his voice.
"I don't know. None of us do." Jaxon said in such a low whisper that we could barely hear him.
"The lady read my mind, and I could feel her poking around. That's when she got scary. I was scared at first when I saw her because she looked just like the man that attacked us. But she was very nice when she saw me, and I could tell she wouldn't hurt me." Stella said as she clung to Mr. Apollo.
"That's not good. Her brother was raised by their father. He has no remorse for what he does. He's the one that killed Eliot's father because their father wanted Wisteria. She loses it when it comes to Michael…." Mr. Apollo paused and closed his eyes like he was trying to decide if he should tell us something. "She has a connection to him, and they can communicate no matter where they are in the world. It's like seeing through each other's eyes. She probably is trying to do it right now, but it's hard for her to make the connection because he blocks her. Just like she blocks him, it's not going to be easy. She could lose control." Mr. Apollo said, looking defeated.
"Why did Eliot ask for ALL the trained witches?" Daren asked, emphasizing the "all."
"Because if she loses control, it will take all of them to contain the explosion of power." Mr. Apollo said in a proud yet scared tone.
"We need to get back. Dad, Mom, you must stay here and keep everyone in the bunker. We need to be with our mate. Brothers, let's go! Now!" Jaxon said in a demanding tone as he stocked out of the door.

When I Read Stella's mind searching for the attacker, I froze. My brother attacked and destroyed the entire coven to get these girls. I noticed the attack was about a day or two ago, looking at how long Stella ran. I was so mad I had to do something. I tried connecting with him, but he was blocking me. He always did this until he wanted to talk to me. But I was no different.
When Xaiden went to step forward, I held My hand up to warn him away.
"Don't. I already have a hard time controlling my magic right now, and If any of you touch me, I will not be able to focus on controlling it." I said coldly. I didn't mean to, but Trying to talk to my brother always got me this way. It's like I feel what he feels.
Eliot came from the tree line and slowly moved toward the others with his hands held cautiously in front of him. He shook his head at Xaiden when he tried to take another step closer to me. He just froze when he felt it. The air around me was ice cold, and I was shaking. I could feel Michael's barriers getting weaker. He must be shifting. I'm the older one, so it makes sense
that I would be the first to shift. But he was getting weaker, and I could feel it.
"Everyone needs to back away slowly. Nothing will be able to calm her down; if she loses it, you are not safe. Now go back to the pack house and send all the trained witches you have here now." Eliot said as he cautiously moved in between the others and me. He is the only one here that knows what I'm doing, and he knows what could happen if I was interrupted.
"What will happen if she doesn't calm down?" Ryker whispered cautiously.
"That is not for me to say. She can tell you when she is ready. I am only here to save you. Now do as I said." He growled out lowly. I appreciate how Eliot is trying to help me keep everyone safe, and he's the best person to do it.
The others started to back away. Once out of range, they rushed towards the pack house with Stella in Jaxon's arms.
"Thanks, Ell," I said weakly as my head started to throb. Michael is getting mad, and he feels me breaking his walls. But his agony is beginning to seep through, and it hurts. It feels like my first shift all over again, but worse. I'm having trouble concentrating. But I can't lose control.
"Ell, I'm losing it. It hurts so bad he's having his first shift!" I grunted as I bared my teeth from the pain.
"Helps on the way. I'm doing what I can alone, but It won't be a walk in the park." Eliot said as he was trying to calm my body and mind. I feel as though I have a whole other person in my body. It always makes me this way if he has his walls up, but I know he does it to protect the both of us, even if no one else does.
"Eliot, what's going on?! I just got a mind link telling every witch to get over here and everyone else to head to the bunker!" Tylor said as he ran over with Axel following behind him.
"Just do as I say. We don't have a lot of time!" Eliot yelled, and Tylor whimpered.
"What do you need?" Axel said, standing by Eliot.
"We need to use a calming spell on her. She's overflowing, and it won't be pretty if she explodes. Follow my movements and think of something that calms you. We need to do this every time someone comes to help." Eliot said as he struggled to keep the spell under control.
Axel and Tylore stood on either side of him and started copying Eliot. All three of them clapped their hand, pointing towards me as sparks shot out of them. They then moved their hands to where their index and thumbs connected with the rest of their fingers pointed up, and a small yellow ball of light appeared between them. They then pushed their hands out flat, facing me with their thumbs and index fingers still touching, and the ball grew and shot out a beam. The three beams connected and formed a dome around me.
"Eliot, I'm breaking through, but it hurts. You need more I don't know if I'll be able to control it," I said as I fell to my knees and hunched over, grabbing my stomach.
"Put everything you got into this, boys. We can't let her down. She doesn't want to hurt anyone but will if this isn't strong enough." Just as he said this, twenty more witches ran up. "Okay, everyone, form a circle around Wisteria! Think of something that makes you calm and copy my movements! We can't mess this up, and you need to pour everything you got into this spell!"
They did the movements again, and twenty-three beams of light shot out and formed a dome over me. As soon as the dome was complete, I was thrown back when I felt my brother, and a burst of magic surged out of me, hitting the barrier, and was nullified. I lay there but was not conscious of my surroundings; I was in my brother's head.
"Why did you do it, Michael? Why did you slaughter that coven to get to those girls?! They are children who can't handle what our father will put them through! And where are the worries?!" I yelled in his head, trying to get through to him. No one knows this, but Micheal never wants to hurt anyone. He tried to help as much as possible, but whenever our father found out, he would torture Micheal.
"He made me. Even though he hadn't been active in a while, he was able to force me to do it. He has my mate Wisteria. Even if he's locked away, he has Nathan keeping her locked away. I had to. I'm so sorry. Nathan would have tortured and then killed her. I tried to contact you to wear you, but I couldn't get through. It was like you didn't exist. I haven't turned them in, yet the drop-off isn't for another two weeks. The others killed half of the worries, but I got the other half out. Please find a way to save these girls and the worries." Micheal said. It sounded like he was crying.
"Nathan, what happened? You're crying." I said in a low voice.
"My wolf is refusing to shift, and it's painful. He won't even talk to me. I think it's because of my part in everything our father does. He's mad at me for putting our mate in this position. It hurts so much, Eri." He said as he cried.
Eri, he hasn't called me that since we were kids. "Bring the kids and worries to my pack tomorrow night at five. I'll be waiting with my mates by the entrance. Spring Moon Pack five o'clock tomorrow night with the girls and worriers! We will come up with a plan then. And we will save your mate!" I said with confidence.
"Five o'clock tomorrow night. I'll be there with the girls and worries. I promise! I love you, sis." He said.
"I love you too. See you soon." I said, and then put the wall between us back up.
When I came too, I was being held and felt the familiar sparks of my mates. I heard my mates calling my name, and they sounded so worried. When my eyes fluttered open, I saw Ryker holding me crying. I reached my hand up and brushed his cheek. "Hey, handsome."
"Wisteria!" Ryker said in shock as he pulled me closer and tightened his hold on me. I held him and stroked the back of his head as he cried. "I thought we lost you! You weren't breathing!"
"I'm okay, baby. I'm okay." I said soothingly.
"Never do that again! You shouldn't be contacting your brother! Mr. Apollo told us everything." Xaiden said as he grabbed me from Ryker and shook me lightly before he pulled me into a hug.
"I had to, and we all need to talk. Mind link everyone, it's okay to resume normal activities and get my uncle and your parents to your dad's office. I have to tell you all something, and I don't think you'll like it." I said to my mates as I pulled away and stood up. "Eliot, you're coming too. You deserve to know. Axel and Tylor get all the witches that participated checked out by the doctor. They use a lot of energy and need some rest."
"No, you don't get to do this. You're not taking everything on your shoulders!" Xaiden said as he towered over me.
"I'm not! But we need to have a meeting, and you need to hear what I say! We are mates, which makes us equals! You DO NOT get to boss me around because you are feeling overprotective. I am the future Luna of this pack, and you are the future Alphas! But that does not mean I have to do what YOU say! WE talk to each other like NORMAL couples! I just went through a great deal of pain, and I am this close to knocking you out for even considering I was trying to do that! NOW GET YOUR PARENTS AND MY UNCLE TO THE OFFICE AND GET YOUR ASS IN THERE! Before I drag you in there myself!" I yelled at Xaiden with an Alpha command.
Xiaden whimpered and bowed his head as he backed away. Everyone else was staring at me because I had just Alpha commanded an Alpha, and I didn't want to do that in front of our pack members, but he wouldn't have backed down.
"Now let's go! There is no point in staying here any longer; no one here is to talk about what happened. In fact, it Never happened. Is that understood by everyone?" I asked in a stern tone.
"Yes, Luna!" Everyone said.
"We have things to talk about. Everyone is dismissed! Thank you for your help! Eliot, come on." I said as I stalked away. Eliot and my four mates followed quickly and quietly behind me. We walled into to Office ten minutes later, and I immediately turned towards Xaiden.
"Ryker shut the door. No one else needs to hear what I have to say." I said as I stared Xaiden down, and he did so. "You are never to contradict me in front of our pack members again! If you have something to say, you can wait until we are in private. I have never disrespected you like that, and the first time you did it to me, it was in front of our entire witch coven! I did not want to talk to you like that, especially not in front of our pack. But you are not my boss. We are equals! All I wanted to do was tell you what happened in private because we needed to decide what to do together! And you jumped to the conclusion I was trying to take all of the trouble onto myself and yelled at me in front of our pack! Do you know how that made me feel?!" I was now crying. But I wasn't only sad; I was mad. I would have never done that to him, and I hate that I did.
"I'm sorry…." That was all he said; he couldn't even look me in the eyes.
"Wisteria, babes, calm down. You said you needed to tell us something. What is it?" Eliot said in a calm but cautious tone.
I looked around at everyone in the room. Eliot, Jaxon, Daren, Ryker, Xaiden, Luna Stacy, Alpha Leo, and Uncle Quinn were all looking at me, and I closed my eyes to compose myself.
"Micheal, my brother has never been on my father's side. We made everyone believe that because if we didn't, my father would have tortured him and killed his mate." I said as I opened my eyes and saw eight confused faces.
