Love Wreck

Chapter 5

Seyla cried all day, she was deeply hurt and disrespected. She never wanted her love story like this but why are things going the exact opposite? How dare Arik? She had always known Arik would do anything to see her relationship ended bitterly with John. Arik had pretended to like her, the energy was always fake. Well, she won! She'd never disrespect herself like that to go be with someone who would run off to the arms of an enemy in their time of distress.

So yeah, she can have John! Seyla cried more than she could imagine. How would she heal through this pain? She's truly lost John, something she was so certain was going to be forever. She did not know who to speak to, her mom loved John so much, she didn't want her to hate him, her friends will never speak with her again, if she told them that and returned to him. She had broken things off with him but what if there's a slim chance, they got back together. She needed time to process it but since they got back their love had skyrocketed even more, so will she let what had happened disturb their present?

Technically, he didn't cheat on me, we actually broke up, maybe what's more painful is Arik in the picture. Seyla thought to herself. He loved her, she was sure, so why did he move on so quickly? I was sulking over our break up and he was having fun with Arik.

John kept reaching out, sent messages, called severally, tried visiting but Seyla wasn't ready and she needed more than just apology; A memory wipe. What she found out was a blast and she's yet to recover from it. Time they say heal, others say, take the necessary action during the time. Seyla wasn't sure if she was healing but it was day and then it was night. Seyla remembered everything her dad did to her mom and how on earth did her mom go through that? She still loved John but if their love was real, why did it have to break her like that? The fear of ending up like her mom has got to be another valid reason. Ms Felicia loved Mr Derek so much, she saw all the red flags and thought it'll get better someday. It did not end well for their marriage and Seyla thought she'd be a big fool to follow in such footsteps. Love is supposed to be peaceful, smooth and easy, at least not a wreck like this. If it'd mean she stays single for another five years, she will wait for a love more deserving.

John couldn't hold it together, so he visited and insisted to see her otherwise he wasn't leaving. He bought her favourite room fragrance and sprayed it to entice her. Immediately she opens the door, he falls to his knees, deeply apologizing. I know I'd never be able to erase what had happened but I can do better and show you the kind of love you truly deserve, Seyla, I'm asking to be loved through this mess. It was my moment of foolishness, I accept it and I'm sorry. Seyla couldn't hold back the tears, still silent. John kept pleading, he didn't want to lose her, at least now he's sure. It's a hard decision John, you don't expect me to run back to your arms after such a level of hurt. You moved on quickly, maybe you truly didn't love me and you didn't tell me about it. I found out myself, you took sides with her. It was magical, so you deserve the love that allows you to experience butterflies. John's heart was racing as they went back and forth on the conversation. John was worn out on the apology, he didn't see a way out of it, so he thought to himself, he has messed things up. It did not matter what brought them here, he's made a bad decision, emotionally. He thought pushing her to get back into relationship without validating her feelings will be selfish, so he left.

Seyla and Arik met after the sherade but Arik had no idea, Seyla found out and how much she detests her. Arik tried to be friendly with Seyla but Seyla couldn't pretend and irritationally slapped Arik. It was going to be a scene but thankfully, Vee and Tesla saved the day. Now, the conversation has to happen with the trio. It is first disappointing that Seyla couldn't put herself together in that front and what a way to find out about her relationship struggles. Seyla knew she should have spoken with her friends, amazingly, they're grown ups and they handled it gracefully. Vee advised to forgive John and continue with her relationship because it's not better anywhere else. Tesla added that if relationships would always be rosy, then did we truly love? He admitted to his wrong. He knows better and wants to do better, why not give him a chance. Vee also mentioned that Seyla had her flaws too but John returned back to her, so she should extend grace. They all agreed that Arik isn't a good enough reason to break what she shared with John.

Seyla agreed to all they said but what about the fear of him cheating because she'd do something in the future to annoy him, would he run off to someone else? Tesla laughed and said, we all John isn't that guy, people make mistakes and I'm certain this is one mistake he wouldn't want to repeat again. I didn't want my love story to be told like this, she whimpered. Vee in sound counsel said “Our love story is not just what we want it to be, it's written in purpose” That means dearest Seyla, in purpose, it's not all smooth and easy, but we definitely cross the hurdles stronger, more refined, more beautiful.

Thank you sisters, I'm so blessed to have you both in my corner and I'm sorry, I battled it alone, Seyla said. They all hugged. Right away, she sends a text to John, come grab your baby girl if you're still up for the offer with a laughing emoji, as though he expected the message, he responded quickly, I'm on my way to you my forever deal.
